Before an audience of thousands at the Staples Center and millions more around the globe, 12-year-old Michael Joseph Jr., known as Prince Michael; 11-year-old Paris-Michael; and 7-year-old Prince Michael II, known as Blanket, sat in the front row, taking in their father's memorial service at Staples Center.
Gone were the veils, the party masks and the guarded gates and walls that kept the Jackson children hidden from view for more than a decade.
Those were replaced with images of their young faces up on stage as the ceremony came to a close, comforting one another and fidgeting as kids will: Prince chewed gum and toted the memorial service program; Paris turned a small patent-leather purse over in her hands; and Blanket held his program and clutched a Michael Jackson doll.
And in a moment of almost shocking openness, Paris went to the podium to address the crowd, fighting back sobs in the ceremony's defining moment.
"Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine," she said, her tiny voice cracking. "And I just wanted to say I love him - so much."
Photos of the children's faces, which eluded the paparazzi for years, had leaked out recently, and were widely circulated in the days after Jackson's death June 25. But the live images of the children - Paris in a black dress with white trim and the two boys wearing the same dark suit and yellow tie as the rest of the men in the Jackson family - represented their first true coming-out for the youngest generation of Jacksons.

- I feel sorry for the children being used by all since birth.
As it turns out Michael Jackson is not the father of the kids.
I always knew his freekeness would go too far.
The children were deliberately born in this manner as well, a perversion against all that is good.
He did not legally adopt the children so how is his claim legal...it seems to me somebody is in violation of child adoption laws and this deserves serious attention as the whole way these kids have been sheltered and brought up in an unhealthy environment. - Reply to this comment

- SHUT THE F UP U KNOW U WISHED HE ADOPTED U OR YOUR KIDS WATCH UR MOUTH!!!RIP MICHAEL I GOT UR BACK I CAN SPEEK FOR MICHAEL ......WORRIE ABOUT UR OWN KIDS YOUR SO INTRESTED....
- no really he is getting more protection than the texas mormans did, with mass seperations from the mothers remember?
In this case, MJ was not father, mother was invetro, and real fathers are not established, but one has been identified as a likely sperm donor..
So this being the truth, how is MJ in any way legally dad?
- God allowed MJ to die to prove a point... It doesn't matter how larger than life you are... God is still in control.

- I think it's only been in the last couple days that I have seen MJ's kids without being cloaked in black tarps. Even indoors! It must be a strange experience for them to be seen without their body blankets.

- I cannot believe some of the outrageous comments I have seen about being glad someone is dead and a child faking the mourning of their father. I have children that lost their father at that age not to mention myself losing my father as a child too. It is utter ignorance and heartless to be so cruel. Wow!?

- How would those children know what being a? good father? even means? They have been kept away from the real world until now.
Also the sperm/egg donor must have been the same for both of the older children; the facial features are very similar; especially the ears.
What a shame Jackson was able to buy babies. These children will carry the stigma of all of this for the rest of their lives. - Reply to this comment

- Why is it a shame to so call buy babies. As someone said earlier. Not everyone is blessed enough to have their own child, however, that is why there are people in the world willing to bless someone else whether it be invitro, adoption, or sarrogote. Do you know whether you had a good father? or what it means? Give me a break. Stop all the hateful comments.
- I must say you must be very stone hearted, to think she was acting.

- That was a great act that little girl put on. I wonder who put her up
to getting up to the mic and faking it.
Will she come out in later years to tell us what a wacko he was?
I don't doubt it. - Reply to this comment

- Most of them showed emotion in a theatrical sense but I didn't see any real tears running down their face. Brooke Shields was the only one who seemed to really get teary eyed.
- Faking it ? Omigod, you are a hateful wacko yourself. Maybe you should re-examine your hateful assumptions about MJ and understand that he was a caring, loving human being with tremendous love for his family. His little girl and all of his family and close friends -- those who, unlike you, actually KNEW him -- attested to that. Yet you accuse a little girl of faking her obviously heartfelt emotion. Unbelievable.
- THINK AGAIN THERE WAS NOTHING BUT LOVE AND COMPASSION AND HURT IN HER VOICE! MICHAEL WAS A WONDERFUL FATHER TO HIS CHILDREN. RAISED THEM WELL, EDUCATED THEM WELL AND LOVED THEM UNCONDITIONALLY! IF THEY HAVE EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE IT WILL BE FROM ALL THE GARBAGE PEOPLE, YOU INCLUDED ARE BRINGING UP. THINGS THAT ARE NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS AND THAT ARE UNTRUTHFUL. LEAVE THEM ALONE AND LET MICHAEL, THEIR FATHER, REST IN PEACE!!!
- The only one whacko is YOU. He worked hard to make all his dreams come true, what are you dreams??. Shallow and pathetic posts??.
- I hope these children find peace in their lives...and that they stay together, it was obvious that they are very close to the Jackson family and splitting them up would be terrible for them...also, it's a shame that it had to take MJ to die before we saw the human side of this man...as his family and friends knew him.

- Enough already, these kids have issues that will keep Psychologists busy and well paid for years. Please, CBS, NBC, ABC ad everyone else, enough already with this stuff. A talented man yes, but end it already and get back to news that has meaning. We don't care about the Paris Hiltons, the Jackson's, and the rest of the vapid celebrity culture. Please leave that to the Jerry Springer's of the world.

- Those, whom brought Michael in to the court, will die with guilt.

- MJ was the master of live entertainment.
Here is where he truly became an ultrastar in 1983 with his performance of Billie Jean:

And here is a much refined performance of the same song many years later. Absolute brilliance in 2001:

- When the girl was blubbering on stage, there was a definite Rosemary's Baby vibe going on with all those vultures and hangers-on picking and poking at her. Truly gross stuff. But of course the Jackson fanatics won't see that; they'll only see the sappiness of it. You are all so easily manipulated.

- The only truly wet eyes I saw were those of Brooke Shields. The others showed the emotion but not any tears. Good acting perhaps?
- OH!!! UR ANOTHER HATER THAT NEEDS TO GET WELL SOON BEAT IT THRILLER!!!WIT UR UGLY COMMENT.. UR A VULTURE ..... RIP MICHAEL JACKSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
- I cried today for a man who lost his life in more ways than one. I was reminded that one man did so much to truely try to make our world a better place . I cried for the mother I lost as a child and I feel so deeply for the father those 3 children lost. I saw my daughter express her compassion for him,and it made me see her in a different light and I was proud of her. I truely believe that Mr Jackson was misunderstood. I never thought that as deeply as I do know. And if I am wrong in wanting to see the best in him it doesn't really matter, he will have to stand in judgement one last time. But I think my Mom will be dancing and singing like she never has before.

- The mother and father of these kids may never be known. They were cooked in a rented womb. That's not to say they are not worthy of all that life has in store for them. I hope they get out of LA as fast as possible. They are dead meat around hollywood. If I was their Guardian, I'd be on a jet to Europe where they can live a normal life, rather being consumed by the McDonalds/Wal-Mart Americans.

- Everyone loves Michael now that he's gone. Face it. He was a great entertainer, but lead a rather strange life. Now he's become our Princess Diana? The idolatry of musicians is a real shame. Shrines built to honor them.
The rumor is that Michael wasn't even a sperm donor and that the ex-wife who lovingly gave up her parental rights, wasn't even the egg donor. The kids belong to who??? But, the joke is on us.. it doesn't matter if they are black or white, Michaels real flesh and blood or not, they were loved by him, and they did an awesome job today.
But get real people. Michael should not be worshipped. The shock of is death is making people more emotional over this than they should be over any human. - Reply to this comment

- Jackson obviously hated being black.
How else would you explain the fact that the sperm and egg donors for his kids were obviously Caucasian.
- Jackson obviously hated being black.
- Jackson was more known as tabloid fodder than an artist. He was wealthy beyond belief, and blew it all. If being an artist means you have to spend 10 million to create an album, we are doomed. I don't find myself listening to much of his output on FM radio. It just doesn't appear there. It doesn't appear on soundtracks and television. It is from an era of excess, when electronic drum machines, and electronic keyboards replaced musicians. When dancers, flashing lights replaced groovy. I'd still rather listen to an Indian tribal pow-wow then most of what MJ Enterprises has on the shelf. Tabloid fame will never replace my love of musicians producing playable, groovy, and non-circus music.

- God Bless these beautiful children, and I pray the family continues to support and care for them. I think it would be horrible if Debbie Rowe gets these children - they don't know her, won't have the same support and it will cause anguish and confusion. She gave them up - she needs to back away and do the right thing.

- She was a rented womb. She's been paid off. Giving the kids to her would be like giving your car back to a Dealer rather than the Manufacturer. Both Debbie and Michael were sterile, as far as I've read. Doctors made the babies in petrie dishes and inserted the fertilized eggs into a rented womb.
- "I just wanted to say, ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. I just want to say I love him so much." In her first public appearance ever, Michael Jackson's 11-year-old daughter Paris ended the two-hour memorial service with these words. They were tearful and heartfelt, and Paris made an impression that is sure to last. Michael Jackson - loving father.
The news coverage continues, hours after the end of the memorial, to pay tribute to Jackson. Most television stations are staying with coverage throughout the day and into the night. In this era of 24-hour news, even this is unprecedented.
Michael Jackson in death is even bigger than he was in life. But the image of little Paris crying and saying how much she loved her "daddy" will be remembered for the fact that it put a human face on the pop superstar, who had multiple plastic surgeries and wore makeup to cover his own face.
