Ex-Wife Won't Be at Jackson Memorial

Attorney Says Debbie Rowe Attendance Would Be "Unnecessary Distraction" As Rowe Gets Testy with Reporters

(CBS/AP)  An attorney for Debbie Rowe says Michael Jackson's ex-wife is backing out of plans to attend the pop superstar's memorial service.

Rowe, the mother of Jackson's two oldest children, had originally planned to attend Tuesday's memorial service at the Staples Center.

But Rowe attorney Marta Almli said Monday her attendance would be "an unnecessary distraction" and that Rowe will "celebrate Michael's memory privately."

Meanwhile, Rowe got testy with reporters in a parking lot when she was asked about the details of the custody battle.

I don't care what any court says. That filthy mouth woman GAVE UP all custodial rights to those kids (most likely was compensated a great deal too) and the only reason she wants them is for the $$$$$$$$$$$$....I say let the kids decided who they want to live with. Michael made it clearly known whom he wanted to raise them if he died. Don't forget, there are "3" siblings involved and the courts would just be tearing them aprt physically and emotionally.

If the courts give her custody, that means every person who gave up their custodial rights can march right back into court and demand their kids back.
