Congressman Peter King Says Society Is "Glorifying" a "Low-Life"

(AP)  A New York congressman says in a YouTube video that Michael Jackson was a "pervert."

Rep. Peter King said society is "glorifying" a "low-life" while ignoring the efforts of teachers, police officers, firefighters, veterans and volunteers.

Jackson was acquitted of molesting a boy.

In the video, the congressman says the "day in and day out" coverage of Jackson's death is "too politically correct."

He conceded that Jackson "may have been a good singer" and "did some dancing."

King is among the possible Republican contenders for the seat held by Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

King has said in the past that he represents the interests of "blue-collar conservatives."

It's not that the fans don't care what Michael Jackson allegedly did to the children. It's that we are informed enough to know better and don't believe he did it. I wouldn't be a fan if I actually believed he was a child molester. I've just always known different. Some non-fans don't understand that he wouldn't be thought of or glorified in this manner if he was actually thought of as a pedophile. He wasn't!

Everyone just needs to live and let live. Mr. King should never have said those terrible things about Michael Jackson.We are all human beings with feelings.Whatever his opinion is, he should have kept it to himself.Did he not consider the fact that Michael has a mother and how she must have felt? She was already heartbroken at the loss of her child.Where was his compassion? I am terribly distressed that the Michael Jackson story has replaced all news coverage for the whole week by all electronic media. Obama is in Russia, Italy, and on his way to Africa, and all we hear and see is Michael Jackson! It is obscene. Meantime, SEVEN soldiers have died in Afghanistan, and it looks like our country has gone insane over a rock star! Shame!

He was a great singer and dancer and inspired many great musicians but this is ridiculous.... he's being idolized as some god. He was no god, he was a drug and alcohol addict. I'm tired of people trying to deny that and blame that the "news is just trying to bash him because he was black", so did the news just bash heath ledger for being white as well? Or were they just stating a fact for a cause of death?
