(CBS/AP)  LAPD detectives have executed at least three search warrants in an effort to find out whether prescription drugs played a role in Michael Jackson's death, reports the Los Angeles Times.

According to the newspaper, officials are trying to filter through Jackson's numerous doctors in a bid to reconstruct the singer's medical history.

Authorities are investigating allegations that Jackson had been consuming painkillers, sedatives and antidepressants. The powerful sedative Diprivan, which is usually administered by anesthesiologists in hospitals, was found in his home. It was not known what drugs, if any, Jackson obtained from doctors.

Meanwhile, Jackson's planned summer concerts in London were just the beginning of a wholesale comeback, reports CBS News correspondent Ben Tracy.

Frank Dileo managed Jackson in his 80's heyday when the thriller and bad albums conquered the charts.

"He said, 'Frank this is our time again,'" Dileo recalls Jackson telling him.

Dileo says Jackson was ready to reassert himself in pop music.

"If London would have gone well, we talked about doing 40 stadium dates in Europe," Dileo told Tracy.

They also discussed a new studio album and in the months before his death, the "King of Pop" had been reassembling his court, reports Tracy.

In addition to Dileo, Jackson rehired John Branca, his former attorney who negotiated some of his most lucrative deals.

"He was trying to go back to the good ole times," said CBS News consultant J. Randy Taraborelli, a Jackson biographer. "He was hoping to reclaim his throne with these two guys masterminding his career."

I'm sure if you have the money, you can get any drug you want and as much as you want. Us common folk have insurance companies to deal with you see. Heaven forbid you ask for a refill on a prescription one or two days before the insurance company thinks you should be entitled to it!

I can remember when Elvis died. At first they said it was heart failure. Nothing was said about drugs back then because Elvis was a "good, religious Southern gentleman" there is no way HE would abuse drugs! Then it was okay to talk about it because the drugs were prescribed. LOL

Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Gloria Allred - Apprear when the media is at it's height, then disappear when the camera lights go off. I llove seeing all the pictures of Sharpton with Joe Jackson...What does Sharpton have anything to do with regarding the Jackson family....

Were the Diprivan pills chewable and shaped like Flintstones? I'm just asking.

The corporate-controlled mass media (radio, TV, and print) is aiding and abetting the dissemination of deliberate lies, by those public officials supposedly "in charge." Trivial Hollywood news has now replaced investigative reporting, enforcing a country-wide situation where Americans are poorly educated and badly informed. President Thomas Jefferson reminded us that real "information is the currency of democracy." Where is it?

Well, I think it's justified. Every doctor is a criminal, you know!

It's always the doctor's fault, not the person who throws down 10 times the amount of pills what they're supposed to. Pretty soon the Medical Board will file accusations, be sure of it.

Nah, no one takes personal responsibility in this country. It's always someone else's fault.

Michael on drugs? Never! Investigate the investigators, Furman must have made a switch. Next thing you hateful racist people will be saying is that Michael had cosmetic surgery!

wow! the investigation is getting infinitely more convoluted everyday. the city of LA and the state of CA are going to take an enormous financial hit not only for the cost of a lengthy, labor intensive and complex investigation that continues to grow in scope, but also for inordinate demands placed on city & state services to stage the memorial service. i recognize that MJ was an accomplished world entertainer with rabid fans and i believe he deserves a public memorial, however the route the family has chosen is awfully selfish given the financial implications. the family could have taken the high road by keeping their private funeral service (something that's very appropriate) yet defer any public memorial service to a future date where it could have been a fee-driven ticketed event that would help offset the cost of utilizing public services. it very much feels like the family is out of touch with today's realities.

Is your head in the sand or are you the one who is out of touch? 500 million hits on one of the MJ websites indicate a great need for a public memorial service. If the family had charged for the tickets, the word greed certainly would have popped up. His grief stricken is struggling to do the right thing for not only Michael but his fans as well. Maybe the Jacksons will help out financially, and I hope they do, but they are not responsible for California's financial situation. You can look to the illegals for that.

Wasn't two garbage bags of medications enough evidence? Well another man's dreams circled the dream before he could realize them. "But given just a little more time I could have been a contender again......."

I wish they would get a search warrant for Al Sharpton's racist head and one for his sidekick Jesse Jackson.

80-90% of the blame for Michael's death belongs to him alone. And it didn't happen just because he (used to be) black.
