Lisa Lavoie, 24, was arraigned Tuesday in Hampden Superior Court in Massachusetts on three counts of aggravated rape and abuse and three counts of statutory rape.
Lavoie and a 15-year-old student were reported missing Feb. 16 and were found a week later. She was fired from her job.
Lavoie already pleaded not guilty in March to enticing a minor. Her attorney, David Hoose, says the new charges were not unexpected.
He says Lavoie is "very upset by the whole experience that she went through."
She is out on $25,000 bail.

- AS a college Professor I am shocked at the hate and vituperaton shown to this young woman who, yes, made a mistake in judgment, and yes is probably sorry for her actions, and feels terrible that she is not being understood. When cross traffic occurs, sometimes there is an accident, that no on can avoid.
We can step back and ask how did this happen. What made her snap.
Or we can just go about the routine, and take one more shot at a young woman who is a trained teacher, and probably had over stressed teaching responsibilities, and was crying out for help, when there was none. How many kids were in her class ? What time did she have to start her day ? Was she forced to work long hours at school functions ? Was she abused as a child herself.
Blame is easy.

- As a woman I can agree with many of the comments here about the lack of wife material. Women today do not learn to cook, clean or be a wife and mother. They want a man who will do it all or hire it done and put them on a pedastal. They want to be worshiped and yes, Princess is the perfect term for them. HOWEVER, when a man DOES find a woman with all of the traits of a good wife, she is labeled clingy and desperate. So please for the sake of everyone make up your minds, either you want wife material or you do not. This is from a woman who was a good wife and mother, who cooked and cleaned and put my husband and my children above all else, only to have him walk out on me for a woman who treats him like a doormat.

- Abuses? How about she's never been taught to take responsibility for her actions?

- I don't know about you, but at 15 to be with a 24 year old is a priveldge not a crime, but I'm a male.
If I were a female and went along, the adult would be raped in prison. - Reply to this comment
- Now you see why The Governor went 4,000 miles to Argentina. If you read those emails I would too. I love women like her, passionate, affectionate, feminine. I would go through a 100 of these regular ones just to find one with those qualities. Go Governor Go!

Form,
Perhaps it's my NY state of mind but this sort of thing seems to be happening more frequently between teachers and students.

I agree. Many appear to want a dork without a real man behind it. - Reply to this comment
- What were the abuses this woman faced herself ?

- Hmm. 24 year old MALE teacher sleeps with 15 yeaar old "girl" student and is hung by the courts.
24 year old FEMALE teacher sleeps with "young man", "feels bad" about it and is released on bail with a slap on the wrist coming.
No double standard here. - Reply to this comment
- Where were all these spicy teachers when I was a kid? That would have been a helluva education......

- I don't think junior high and high school female teachers are much different than the males!
I think a lot more female teachers would be doing it, except the majority of the group inclined toward it, have enough personal restraint to stop themselves before they go too far! Jail acts to deter them! For others, it doesn't!
But, I do think it's a power and control issue for most of these people! - Reply to this comment

- No, this is what happens when school districts hire pedophiles.
It has nothing to do with the nation as a whole.

- How do you prove rape on a boy?

- Statutory rape has nothing to do with consent or dna evidence.
She's an adult. He's a child. Therefore it is rape.

- The problem is with American women. They have bad attitudes, are lazy, just complain and spend the hard earned money of their husbands. Plus they nag all day and night. And once a month...whew...forget it! They don't know how to act like ladies. They're all gold-diggers. They're mouthy.

It is patently unfair to cast all American women in thes light but I'll agree with you on one point - the majority appear to be raised thinking they're a princess.
Parents apparently, somewhere along the way, started raising their daughters not to look for a good man, but rather, one who will continue spoiling and pampering them.
I dated many American women and invariably one of the first questions out of their mouths is a query to establish a man's income. No second date for those floozies.
I don't expect subserviance but neither will I put up with a "princess" attitude.
Third world women are much more realistic in their expectations than most American women, in my book. - Reply to this comment

- I agree! Too many American women have a "princess" attitude! It's a definite "turn-off"! Also, foreign women as a group tend to be far nicer, easier to get along with, and better company in the long-run than do American women! That, in part, probably has something to do with Sanford's attraction toward the Argentine girlfriend!
- Precisely. I was looking for a word and you provided it "Princess" You're right foreign women tend to be a lot more traditional based. I was listening at Fox Sports Talk show last week and they were interviewing one of the Utah Jazz players wife. He's Russian I forgot his name and she is too. Anyways, the interviewer was asking her was it difficult to learn American culture, she said it was, she had never ate a hot dog for instance and she was faithful to her husband, the American women she would meet would tell her she was stupid, and you should be wearing this, and having that, "he's a millionaire you can do it" She said that hurt her because in Europe and Russia, she said women don't think that way, they stand by their husbands regardless of whatever. And everybody wonder why America leads the World in Divorce. Also theres a documentary called "Cowboy del Amor" about this guy who became a wife broker, he was so succesful at it he became a millionaire, very powerful story. He specializes in finding American men Mexican wives, not just wives, but, loving, nurturing wives. I would urge you all to see that documentary. He's helped hundreds of men find wives.

- More states need to adopt an age restriction for teachers. If a teacher is under a certain age he/she should not be teaching high school or middle school kids. Period. It won't fix the entire problem but it will go a long way in situations like this...
