(AP)  McDonald's will begin selling a new line of bigger burgers priced at about $4 each on Thursday to bring in customers looking for a beefy alternative to pricier burgers at sit-down restaurants.

The new Angus burgers are made with one-third pound of Angus beef and come in three varieties - a deluxe burger with pickles and tomatoes, a mushroom swiss burger and a bacon and cheese burger.

The burgers will be sold in all U.S. locations for the next few months.

McDonald's has been testing the burger for several years in Ohio, New York, Los Angeles and New Mexico but it held back from introducing it to all U.S. consumers to focus on its core menu and lower-priced offerings.

I'm glad as an American I can eat what I want and get as fat as I want. If you enjoy being fat, definitely, this is a burger worthy of keeping you full of happiness.

"a deluxe burger with pickles and tomatoes, a mushroom swiss burger and a bacon and cheese burger."

Not a bad or unhealthy meal in a pinch. I would toss the buns and eschew the fries and soda pop though.

Criticizing McDonald's for adding even more unealthy items and bemoaning Americans' increasing obesity does not prevent anyone from buying the products. And it has nothing to do with one's right as a free American (I checked the Constitution and it's not there; also, people around the world buy fast food, including at McDonald's, and they are free to do so even though they aren't Americans). When one becomes obese, it not only affects them and their families, but also affects many others, due to rising health and life insurance costs, etc. Many children have become obese due to the role model set by their parents. This is happening in many countries. Everyone has a right to commit suicide by eating poorly, but at least be aware it costs many others.

Just what we need, a bigger burger. What happened to all the talk regarding curbing appetites to curtail the obesity epidemic. So, how many calories are we facing while munching on these deluxe Angus burgers complemented of course with an order of super-sized fries and a large milkshake. I may have to pass on these super duper burgers and concentrate on continuing to drink what I consider to be the best coffee in town. For sure, McDonald's coffee is excellent, far better than Starbuck's, but I'll leave the burger combos to others who enjoy watching their waistlines expand.

Wow, this stream of comments is absolutely amazing! First of all, it's no mystery why we are an obese nation: it's because people have absolutely no self control. It's not entirely the fault of the fast food industry. No worker at McDonald's is forcing the fat people of this country to eat burger after burger. We all know how bad those meals are, and I choose to eat the things I like in moderation, along with daily exercise. In addition, I do not blame anyone when I gain five pounds, because it's MY fault. Also, it is astounding how ignorant most of you sound on this message board. Maybe you all should spend less time trolling the internet and more time reading legitimate literature and using spell check. Well, I'm going for a 3 mile run, then I'm going to enjoy a nice big McDonald's burger in my size four pants :)

In some quarters (not quarter pounders) we will be doing ourselves a large service (.) by continuing to develop our posterior lap for the after life. In several Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is reported, that the tailbone is the origin of the human being. And on Judgment Day God will emerge a human being from his or her tailbone.

The holy scripts are:

1) Abu Huraira narrated, that the Prophet (pbuh) said:

"All of the Sons of Adam (men) will decay except for the bone of coccyx (tailbone). From it he (man) was created and by it he will be reconstructed."

2) Abu Huraira narrated, that the Prophet (pbuh) said:

"There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone; that is the little bone at the end of the coccyx of which the human body will be recreated on the Day of Resurrection."

So, keep protecting that ticket to Resurrection, folks. They called it the Last Supper for a reason.

I wouldn't let a dog eat a McDonald's hamburger...the enriched bun (nutrients in dough replaced with synthetics).

I've never tried their flies. Odd, they charge an eat-in tax where you are? Where I'm at they charge a take-out tax! Maybe they charge both?
