CBS station KHOU in Houston is reporting that a Texas doctor was in Michael Jackson's southern California home when he collapsed from sudden cardiac arrest.

A medical assistant at the Acres Home Heart and Vascular Institute told KHOU that a doctor from there was one of Jackson's physicians.

Dr. Conrad Robert Murray, a cardiologist licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Nevada, was living with Michael Jackson at his rented Holmby Hills mansion, according to KHOU.

Jermaine Jackson said his brother's personal physician tried to resuscitate him at his home, as did the paramedics, but it's not clear if the personal physician he was referring to was Dr. Murray. Then at the hospital, doctors tried to revive him for more than an hour Thursday , but were unsuccessful.

CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker reports police now are seeking Murray and they impounded the car he was driving at Jackson's mansion.

The Los Angeles Times reported Friday that Murray, a cardiologist, was hired by a concert promoter to accompany the entertainer to London for his comeback concert series, a Jackson advisor said today.

The Times report that police talked to Murray briefly at UCLA Medical Center, are trying to track him down for further interviews.

STOP!,

All this hip shot "analysis" and speculative expert commentary on experts and Doctors is sickening.

The yellow tabloid slice of the news industry will do enough to feed the suer market news stand mentality Let's nlt add to it here.

Assuming that the doctor had really been hired by the promoters to look after Jackson. That means that someone was concerned about him. It also means that everything that could have been done immediately was done. Regardless of what went before, when your number is up, it is up. Nothing can change that. God Bless.

This,"Physician", left his patient at the scene. That's why the Coroner took posession of the body, as no personal Physician was on hand to sign the death certificate.

He's in big trouble.

If it was the Demerol, then the doctor must have given him a ton of it given Mr. Jackson's tolerance for pain killers. Who is this doctor? What are his connections? What medical school did he graduate from? NYU would be my guess.

even if it wasnt, if he was tolerant, sthan his dosage was likely stable with predictable results. Also, as a pulmonary depressant, opioid OD's can be treated with simple mouth to mouth resuscitation.

However, if someone stops breathing and is not discovered for several minutes, they heart may stop and be damaged. Then the brain is damaged, etc.etc.

Poor guy.. RIP Michael

We don't know yet if this MD prescribed drugs of abuse to MJ. But judging from recent Hollywood cases there are always a few who will. It's kind like the same class of MD who would make a case out of non-malpractice suit just to make the "expert witness" money from reviewing the record & giving a deposition at $400.00/hr. or the Insurance paid MD who just happens to side with the insurance company.

These three kinds of MD BUMS are bastards who wouldn't be making a good living if they were exposed everyday for what they do. How about it AMA??? ...Don't hold your breath folks.

Sedation due to an opioid like Demerol is rapidly reversed by the administration of Narcan. Did Mr. Jackson's physician administer Narcan prior to the arrival of EMS? If he did administer it, why didn't it work? If he did not administer it, why not? Was it unavailable? I cannot imagine that it was unavailable.
