Jon Gosselin Said Shopping For New Digs
Jon Gosselin, star of TLC reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," is apartment hunting, according to Gawker.com -- without his wife.
Gosselin reportedly spent Friday looking at apartments in New York City's Upper West Side. Gawker reported Gosselin checked out an apartment at Trump Place, owned by mogul Donald Trump.
But as CBS News correspondent Terrell Brown reported on The Early Show Monday, the space he is said to have seen is a small, luxury apartment, rumored to cost $3,200 a month with only 700 square feet of space.
So, can eight kids really fit?
"Where are they all going to sleep?" said New Yorker Zach Rebeckoff. "How could you fit eight kids in a one-bedroom?"
Jon's apartment hunting comes after the Gosselins publicized a major announcement for fans last Wednesday. In a 30-second promo for a special, hour-long edition of the TLC show slated to run Monday night, Kate says the two of them have made some "life-changing decisions" that will affect their famous family, adding she hopes the choices will "bring each of us some peace."
So does this all spell the end of Jon and Kate's 10-year marriage?
TLC isn't revealing what the news will be, but there are reports it could be that the couple is separating or divorcing.
"Sources and family members have told us that Jon, for months now, has been living in the garage apartment, and that they were very interested in having separate lives," Natalie Thomas, US Magazine deputy news editor, told CBS News, "...So now sources are telling us back at home that he is looking for a new place, and that he will be moving out."
The ongoing questions about child treatment and the show may be even more unsettled if Jon decides to take up residence in the small apartment.
