(CBS)  Laura Izibor, dubbed Rolling Stone magazine's "Artist to Watch," made her national TV debut on The Early Show Saturday Edition's "Second Cup Cafe."

The 22-year-old Dublin, Ireland native has already become a singing sensation in her home country. With the brand-new release of her debut album, "Let the Truth Be Told," she hopes to make a splash in the U.S.

Izibor performed "From My Heart To Yours," which has been on the Hot Adult R&B Airplay chart for 35 weeks, currently sitting at NO. 8.

The young talent started hitting the songbooks early and began working on her album, both songwriting and co-producing when she was just 17 years old.

"I've written this album because it's my truth," she said. "It's a sincere record and it has a feel of survival in it as well."

Let the truth be told - had Izibor not been put on the spot in drama class and forced to sing in front of her classmates, she wouldn't have discovered her true calling.

Born to a Nigerian father and an Irish mother, Izibor has brought her individuality to her homeland of Ireland, where she's known as "The Soul of Ireland."

She's shared her soulful vibe on stage with music greats, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, John Legend, James Brown, Angie Stone and Estelle.

Several singles off of Izibor's album have already been heard on "Grey's Anatomy," "The Hills," "The Nanny Diaries," and "Step Up 2: The Streets," "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married," and "Seven Pounds."

To add to her stellar list of acknowledgements, Izibor has been named VH1's "You Oughta Know" artist, Rhapsody's "Ones to Watch," Vibes "Next: Artists On the Verge" and Essences "Best New Artist."
