The second part of the interview, to be conducted at the White House on Friday, June 19, will be aired on The Early Show on Monday, June 22 starting at 7 a.m. ET.
The interview will focus on a wide range of topics, including a look at the troubled U.S. financial system and the president's latest initiatives on health care. In honor of the holiday, part of the interview will focus on President Obama's role as First Dad.
The president and first lady Michelle Obama are the parents of two daughters, Malia, born in 1998, and Sasha, born in 2001. Sasha is the youngest child to live in the White House since 1961, and the first ever White House occupant to be born in the 21st Century.
The nation has been keenly interested in the entire Obama family since Mr. Obama was elected the country's 44th president in November. The addition of a swing set to the White House grounds and the family's adoption of the Portuguese Water Dog named Bo made headlines across the country.
Harry Smith is one of the anchors of The Early Show.
