"I make up stories," Mohammed said at one point in his 2007 hearing at Guantanamo Bay.
In broken English, he described an interrogation in which he was asked the location of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
"Where is he? I don't know," Mohammed said. "Then he torture me. Then I said, `Yes, he is in this area or this is al Qaeda which I don't know him.' I said no, they torture me."
Yet at the same military tribunal hearing, Mohammed ticked off a list of 29 terror plots in which he said he participated.
The transcripts were released as part of a lawsuit in which the American Civil Liberties Union is seeking documents and details of the government's terror detainee programs.
Previous accounts of the military tribunal hearings had been made public, but the Obama administration went back and reviewed the still-secret sections and determined that more could be released.
ACLU lawyer Ben Wizner called on the Obama administration to disclose more details, saying the new materials "provide further evidence of brutal torture and abuse in the CIA's interrogation program and demonstrate beyond doubt that this information has been suppressed solely to avoid embarrassment and growing demands for accountability."
George Little, the CIA spokesman, took issue with Wizner's characterization of the interrogation practices.
"The CIA plainly has a very different take on its past interrogation practices, what they were and what they weren't, and on the need to protect properly classified national security information."
Justice Department spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler said the new materials were released voluntarily by the government, which is keeping other portions secret to protect intelligence-gathering sources and methods.
Most of the new material centers on the detainees' claims of abuse during interrogations while being held overseas in CIA custody.
One detainee, Abu Zubaydah, told the tribunal that after months "of suffering and torture, physically and mentally, they did not care about my injuries."
Abu Zubaydah was the first detainee subjected to Bush administration-approved harsh interrogation techniques, which included a simulated form of drowning known as waterboarding, slamming the suspect into walls and prolonged periods of nudity.
Abu Zubaydah claimed in the hearing that he "nearly died four times."
"After a few months went by, during which I almost lost my mind and my life, they made sure I didn't die," Abu Zubaydah said in his statement to the tribunal.
He claimed that after many months of such treatment, authorities concluded he was not the No. 3 person in al Qaeda as they had long believed.

Most of the Salem witches also confessed under torture -nothing new,Bush & Cheney surely had one of their D grades in history.
In the Salem witch trials 'waterboarding' was done differently. You were plunged underwater for at least ten minutes, if you lived, you were declared a witch and burned at the stake, if you didn't you were buried with respect.. - Reply to this comment
- This guy was never tortured. You know if they had tortured him they would have yanked all that hair off of his fat, disgusting belly, his big man boobies and his back.
How does a guy get so fat working for al-qaida?? I thought he would be roughing it but it looks like he's had his fair share of mecca cola and halal-hoes. - Reply to this comment
- Ex-VPO Darth Vader Cheney has stated that he does not believe that Khalid Shiek Mohammed lied about the fables he told the CIA under torture.
The Vader said that Khalid Shiek Mohammed is a liar when he said he LIED about making up stories under torture for the enjoyment of the CIA. In the Vader's opinion, since he lied about lying, he therefore was telling the truth since 2 lies make a truth much like 2 wrongs make a right, which, after all, is what the Emperorship of the Great Emperor George W. Bush was all about!!! In that case, the Great Emperor did so many things wrong that they, therefore, have to be ALL RIGHT!!!!
Following his senile babblings on right and wrong, the Vader Cheney will drag Donald "Rummy" Rumsfeld to the stage to explain how knows can be unknowable, while unknowables can be either unknowable or known!!!!!

Thats right you liberals! Better give up the valuable information or we shall torture you again!
I thought you were just dimwitted but I finally see that you're just a troll trying to stir up the pot with your fake Colbertish comments. Perhaps I'm just late to the party and everyone else already knew. - Reply to this comment

- He should be given a survey that asks:
How does the torture in GITMO compare to the torture you and your organization is accustom to giving? - Reply to this comment

- When the left in this country still blame Bush, cheney and the republicans for everything from the economic crisis, to terrorist attacks, to the U.S. strategy of ousting Sadam and choosing to fight Al Qaeda in Iraq for strategic and logistical reasons they ignore the FACT that it took both sides of the isle to create and fund these policies. The democrats have enjoyed a majority, the same that got them elected in Novemberthat was able to turn a blind eye to the truth and just blame one side of the equation through umnprecedented proghanda and lies. Thes same sheep continue to live in a fantasy world of hate whicgh despite the fact the Dems noe have complete abnd utter control continue to blame just one side. As idiotic as this may seem, this campaign of critisism has allowed this group to ignore the truth and continue to ignore the reality that nothing has really changed regarding these same policies.

- they shouldve used techniques that WORK when they interrogated him. Everyone knows that torture produces faulty info. People will say anything. They should have followed the tried and true methods, gotten all the REAL info out of him...and THEN tortured this bag of sh*t.

- On the far right you have two groups: the blissfully ignorant right wing authoritarian followers (sheep) that need to be told who to hate and who to fear. And then you have the propagandist (sheep herders) that actually do pay attention and know that Obama is not a Muslim, that Sotomayor is not a racist, know the number of uninsured Americas has doubled since Bush took office, know that the biggest obstacle to real health care reform is lobbyist and their huge payments to those that represent them rather than us, understands that the United States spends six times more per capita on the administration of the health care than its peer Western European nations, know that 1.5 million families lose their homes to foreclosure every year due to unaffordable medical costs, know that we have the most unequal distribution of wealth and income of any major nation in the industrialized world, know that it was the Bush administration and a Republican congress that methodically deregulating the financial industry, just like with Enron, just like with the savings and loan crisis we are now living with the consequences ? only magnified 1,000,000 times over, knew that there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq prior to our invasion, knew that Bush and Cheney were in the pockets of Big Oil, knew billions are were siphoned off in Iraq by war profiteering contractors, understand what torture is torture and that it has been used on many more than just Al Qaeda suspects and understand that climate change is real and yet they continue to stand before the American people and state otherwise. These two groups are the greatest threat to America and our freedoms, just look at what they have wrought.

At one time I would have agreed with you on just killing them, but if you stop and think for a minute, this is what these people want.
They want to die so they can become martyrs for islamic extremists
so I say dont give them their wish.We have a nice secure prison called Supermax in Florence,CO that can house these vermin.Let them suffer the humiliation amd misery of being locked in an 7x10ft cell for 23hrs a day, everyday for the rest of their rotten lives.
Just killing them is too easy, letting them suffer humliation is a
far more rewarding justice. - Reply to this comment

- Indeed he needs to be tortured. We still need to find a link between Al Qaeda and Iraq. If 183 times didn't help, maybe a few more times will do. What do you think ?
- Barack Obama should send Mohammed back to Iraq for prosecution. In America, he is treated as a captured enemy general. Why not fly him to Baghdad where they will indict him as a felon?
