Pageant Boss Ousts Carrie Prejean In Wake Of Her Comments About Gay Marriage

(CBS/AP)  Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, who stirred up trouble for herself when she said gays shouldn't be allowed to marry, got two dreaded words from pageant poobah Donald Trump on Wednesday: "You're fired."

Trump and other pageant leaders said Prejean was being sacked not because of the remarks but because she hadn't been holding up her end of the agreement she signed when she entered the pageant.

"Carrie is a beautiful young woman and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests," Trump said.

Prejean spokeswoman Melany Ethridge declined to comment, saying she hadn't been able to reach the former beauty queen since the announcement of her ouster.

"This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," the California pageant's executive director, Keith Lewis, said in a statement.

He had complained at a news conference last month that Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances.

After the complaints reached Trump, who owns Miss California USA's parent organization, the mogul decided to give her a second chance and keep her on. On Wednesday, he changed his mind.

"I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Trump said in a statement. "Unfortunately it just doesn't look like it is going to happen."

Pageant officials said Prejean would be replaced by the Miss California pageant's first runner-up, Tami Farrell, 24, who was crowned Miss Teen USA in 2003. They had announced last month that Farrell was being named a special ambassador to fill in for Prejean at any events she didn't attend.

During the Miss USA competition, Prejean was first runner-up after answering a judge's question about gay marriage by saying wedding vows should be reserved for men and women.

"No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised," she said.

After the response drew heavy criticism she began speaking to crowds opposed to gay marriage, violating a section of her contract that required she clear unsanctioned appearances with pageant officials. About the same time, seminude photos of her began to surface on the Internet.

Although the photos were mild, pageant officials said she also violated her contract by not disclosing their existence to them.

When Trump initially decided to keep Prejean on, Lewis' co-executive director, former Miss USA Shanna Moakler resigned in protest.

"My faith has been restored in the Miss Universe Organization and with Donald Trump," Moakler said in a statement after Wednesday's announcement. She didn't say whether she planned to return to the organization.

"I think she's a young girl, and I think she was thrown into the spotlight (after the Miss USA pageant)," Moakler told The Early Show last month. "I think she was not prepared. I think a lot of organizations latched onto her. They exploited her. They didn't prepare her. I think, you know, she's very honest when she says she never expected this."

It's now a scientific fact babies are often born gay. Gay men have a swirl in their head hair that goes in the opposite direction as most hetero males. Also the lengths of their index and ring fingers are more proportionate.

Science now says there are two points where testosterone is injected into a fetus. The first one rules sex development, the second one develops sexuality and gender. If anything goes wrong during those times, you will get a gay child who is not fully masculinized. That's how gay and intersexed children are made.

It also has a huge genetic factor. Some women are super baby-makers. To keep reproductive balance, every child she has in succession has a greater chance of being gay, a non-reproducer. The more brothers a boy has ups his chances of being gay.

Every mammal species has homosexual members. Do the research.

You are right! In fact we would not be real Christians and certainly wouldn't be doing our job as Christians if we didn't spread the Gospel! Jesus told his disciples in Mark 16: 15 "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." That means EVERYONE!

Jesus also said in Luke 14: 23 "And the lord said unto his servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." He was telling a parable at the time but he was actually telling his disciples that was what they were supposed to do.

We Christians are his disciples in today's world.

There are as in almost all segmemts of society a few extremists, but the vast majority of christians are not out to force their faith and following on anyone. However, they would not be loving neighbors if they did not warn others they were going the wrong way.Unfortunately a significant amount of north americans have become uncaring to what goes on around them,so long as they're not affected. God gave us all a free will to obey him or not, the choice and consequences thereof are yours. Christians want to help you choose the right way and should stand for truth ,justice and morals. To label them as "taliban' is extremist on your part, be thankfull they are out for your well being.

Some of the comments on here are just wasting space. What is all this about the religion in here. This was supposed to be a beauty contest and if the truth was known most of these women have had pics taken of them, because they glorify in showing off their bodies, that's what it is. Somebody has it in for her because she made a comment. Well we all have the right to think the way we want. She never said anything negative, she just said what her views were. That was a stupid question to ask this girl, very stupid. Gay people have righs, but they all of a sudden think they should have more rights and everybody should have to accept it. If so, do forgive me for my ignorance of such, but as I understand it from Christ's own teachings, he promoted tolerance, which your entry does obviously deny. The Lord has no intention's of two men or two woman having sex together or getting married. In Genesis 2:22, the Lord took a rib from Adam and made him a mate, a woman named of Eve, so this shows you that God didn't want anyone else to be mated together, just a man and a woman only. In Leviticus 20:13, quote, " Man shall not lay with another man as he would a woman, it is an abomination." Back when Moses wrote these first books of the Bible as told to him by God Himself, the people would take the gay's/queer's outside the city or camp limit's and stone them to death so they wouldn't contaminate the other people because this was a really bad sin. Now a day's we don't use stoning anyone as a capital offense which it was in the day's of Moses, we either give the death peneltiy of life in prison which the gay's/queer's should have done to them. f capital punnishment was good enougth for God back then, it should still be now in these day's, it's still the same sin!

While what you think is politically correct, how I see it in the eyes of God is that she spoke religiously and humanistically incorrect. How on earth can she contribute to the progression of humanity and tolerance of peoples when she openly despises a group that has political and religious connotations? There is ample medical evidence that there are biological and physiological differences between homosexuals and bisexuals that occur during fetal development. I also happen to know that there is more proof of that which has yet to be released, as improving technology is developing that will make it irrefutable.
