Smuggled Gun Found On Phoenix-Bound Plane

By
CBSNews
(CBS)  A US Airways employee and passenger are being questioned after an unloaded handgun was discovered aboard a Phoenix-bound flight originating in Philadelphia, reports CBS News correspondent Bob Orr.

Souces say a passenger allegedly handed a bag containing the weapon to an airline employee, who bypassed the security screening before giving it back to the passenger, reports Orr.

Ammunition was also found on the plane.

Another passenger saw the suspicious hand-off and alerted authorities. The gun was found during a subsequent search of the plane. The flight taxied back to the gate and all the passengers were removed, reports Orr.

Sources says the incident appears to be isolated and is not related to terrorism. Investigators do not believe the suspected passenger intended to use the gun on the flight but was simply trying to elude security in order to carry the weapon to Phoenix, reports Orr.

The FBI, Transportation Security Administration and Philadelphia law enforcement are investigating the incident. No charges have been filed.

I have been away a few days, but when I saw the word "gun" I figured spamlord would be attracted like a vulture to carrion. Lamentably, I was right. There were approximately 20 of his MORONic posts. While I don't know from personal experience, I understand herpes, much like elbuitre, keeps coming back and there is no cure.

Whatever. I can say that guns are used in more suicides than any other method. That is a fact that remains undeniable. I am not saying that guns CAUSE suicide, but they sure are the weapon of choice in accomplishing suicide.

Why don't you take an 'unarmed' stroll through any jungle, (concrete or otherwise). I will follow and carry a video camera so we can see what happens to you!!!!!!

I hope these two are charged for the serious crime they've committed. The ariline official that did his ,"friend", a favor knew what a serious issue this was. He will certainly lose his job, and never work in the airline industry again, but that's not enough, a message needs to be sent.

And this isn't a ,"gun", story. Geez...

One thing is to say the study is flawed and another to prove it. You always fall way short on the latter. Japan's suicide problem is related to culture. Ours is related to guns.

Practice what you preach... you are completely sure that the difference is cultural vs having guns? There aren't any other possible variables? This has been definitively proven by? YOU? I'm quite sure that YOU believe it though

Imagine that, another pathetic insult from the "LORD" of insults. How typical.

schoollord,
More insults and false accusations but that's to be expected from you.
Not really even worth responding to anymore if it weren't for all the falsehoods being spewed at the same time. Culture and not inanimate objects is what's responsible for suicides and homicides. This should be obvious to anyone with the ability to think with logic.

If I have to wound or even kill somebody to stop them from killing me or someone else, I will not think twice!
It's as simple as that.

gunownerdan said "Last time that was attempted, King George got his rear end handed to him in 1775. Is that what you want? Another bloody revolutionary war? Who exactly will take up arms against the armed?"

I will volunteer to take yours.
