But withdrawal before ejaculation during intercourse is more than just "better than nothing," a new study claims, noting that it is nearly as effective at preventing pregnancy as condoms.
The study, titled "Better than nothing or savvy risk reduction practice? The importance of withdrawal," appears in the June edition of the journal Contraception.
The authors find:
"If the male partner withdraws before ejaculation every time a couple has vaginal intercourse, about 4% of couples will become pregnant over the course of a year. However, more realistic estimates of typical use indicate that about 18% of couples will become pregnant in a year using withdrawal. These rates are only slightly less effective than male condoms, which have perfect- and typical-use failure rates of 2% and 17%, respectively."

I currently call myself a Republican, because I do not like the socialist agenda of the Democrat party. Having a president who thinks Supreme Court justices should render decisions based on personal feelings rather than constitutional law scares me. Being a Republican for most of us has nothing to do with belonging to an intolerant religion or group.
I do not consider being gay something for which to pin a medal on anyone, but neither is being heterosexual. And I consider abortion in the first trimester or at any time the mother's life is threatened to be every woman's right.
Don't paint all Republicans with the same brush. We do not all believe every plank of the Republican platform, any more than all Democrats believe every idea proposed by the Democrats.
Yeah, but what about your dad, budmag06?

What a sad little person. You pointed out some key issues in your post. Yes, black/hispanic men have been taking white women, but what you won't admit is that we are not forcing white women to do anything against their will. What does that say about white men? Don't hate on us, get yourself together because I know more white dudes that have run out on their women more than any other race. Being a deadbeat dad has nothing to do with race, it has to do with home training and lack of responsibility.
Good bye USA, hello obese half breed USA with jerry curls!"
Personally im impressed you were able to read and understand the article. Im guessing your poor and have little higher education. Im also willing to bet youve never traveled abroad nor have been exposed to other cultures and other communities. Before you pay this years dues to the KKK do yourself a favor and open your mind to other cultures. Turn in extra aluminum cans this year and get out of your little racist clique with thier little minds and expand your world view.
Anyway, it is rather irresponsible for CBS to carry an article stating that pulling out statistically can work the same as wearing a con.dom. At the very least, the article should mention the fact that pulling out does not carry any protection against sex.ually transmitted diseases. There are some people out there who need that information repeated to them and included in articles relating to such matter; teens for example! I can hear them now, "I read this article that you don't even need to wear a con.dom anymore! Pulling out works almost as well!". The article doesn't take into account (I doubt I can type the words pre-ejacu.lation but I'll try) that some men have small amounts released beforehand and this method is probably closer to the 17% range than 4%. Bad advice hidden in this story to say the least.

I guarantee you they will ban this account and delete my post once again. It's the way they operate. There are a few hateful employees at CBSnews.com (one of them goes by the screenname of "newster1"-you'll see him post his hateful remarks about Christians on here from time to time), and he is directly responsible for the lack of free speech for all on these forums, particularly towards those of the Christian faith.

They never used to delete all posts before, if you were banned. I can only judge by the posts that I have read of yours , on this story. I didn't see any reason for banning you. But I don't know what you may have said on other stories. : ) You should be able to say whatever, as long as you aren't preaching to people, or attacking people. They could take offense to that.
The main reasons that I have been banned are because I don't always stick to the topic. : ) I have conversations with people. That's a big no-no.

Have you ever checked back the next day to see if they are gone? I don't make a habit of reporting people, in fact it is rare for me to do so, but there was once where the posts didn't disappear until the next day. I think if they have a lot of people reporting abuse, they get backed up. Also it is a matter of opinion on what some people consider abuse, or a personal attack. What you considered abuse, someone else may not.
