H1N1 Victim's Son Pitches No-Hitter In NYC

Wearing Cap With His Dad's Initials, Son Of Man Who Died Of Swine Flu Pitches Near-Perfect Game

(CBS/AP)  The son of a New York City assistant principal who died of H1N1 (swine) flu has pitched a no-hitter while wearing a cap bearing his father's initials.

Jordan Wiener is the son of Mitchell Wiener, an assistant principal at an intermediate school in Queens. Jordan attends Robert F. Kennedy High School in Queens and struck out 14 batters on Thursday.

His father was buried Wednesday after dying of the virus on Sunday.

The senior says he felt his father giving him the power to win. He says his dad "would want me to do what I do best, and that's pitching."

The 6-foot-6 senior left-hander would have thrown a perfect game except for a passed ball on one of those strikeouts allowed a runner to reach base, the New York Post reported.

The 10-0 victory was over Brooklyn's Prospect Heights School.

This is NOT NEWS. CBS: you need to get a grip and get rid of a few editors. Send em back to McD's to flip burgers. SHEESH

aka_KJB, actually there will be the "apparent" suicide of a former South Korean president.

That's news, but I'm sure it won't interest you.

You're waiting for the next Bobby Sox story from Podunk, right?

Oh, get over it you two. I see, if it's not people being blown to bits or your pet religious causes, it's not "news". It's called a "human interest" story, which means it's of interest to HUMANS. I'm sure there will be some child murder or terrorist bombing for you two shortly.
Some people's children......

EXACTLY. It's the media, creating news (as usual) in an effort to pull on the public's heart strings (see DennisinSF's slobbery comment) to keep the swine flu "crisis" alive.
