Sherri Shepherd and Val Chmerkovskiy
Jack Wagner and Anna Trebunskaya
Martina Navratilova and Tony Dovolani
Season Recap: The season started off with three frontrunners - Maria Menounos, Katherine Jenkins and William Levy - that had judges and viewers cheering. Those three remained the ones to watch throughout the competition, and two of them made it to the finale (Menounos was eliminated in the semifinals). Rounding out the final three is Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, who rarely topped the leaderboard but was still a strong and charismatic competitor. The season had its share of injuries - Melissa Gilbert suffered a concussion during one routine, Jenkins hurt her back during another - and also introduced the "Dance Duel," where the judges decided which star went home. During the finale, Levy and Burke came in third place, Jenkins and Ballas were declared the runners-up and Driver and Murgatroyd were crowned this season's "Dancing" champions.
Season 13

ABC)
Winner: J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff
Runner-Up: Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke
The Other Dancers:
Ricki Lake and Derek Hough
Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya
Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani
Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas
Elisabetta Canalis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Ron Artest and Peta Murgatroyd
Season Recap: This season became controversial before any of the contestants hit the dance floor, when it was announced that transgender activist Chaz Bono would be participating alongside a female partner. Maksim Chmerkovskiy, partnered with Hope Solo, got into hot water with the judges when he challenged their criticism and said "DWTS" was "my show." J.R. Martinez and Ricki Lake established themselves as early frontrunners, while other dancers seemed to be eliminated too early (Kristin Cavallari) or too late (Nancy Grace). Rob Kardashian proved himself a better dancer than sister Kim (who finished 11 out of 13 in Season 7), and became a serious contender for the mirrorball trophy as the season went on. Martinez, Kardashian and Lake ultimately made it to the finals. Lake came in third place, Kardashian came in second and Martinez and partner Karina Smirnoff were crowned Season 13's champions.

Season Recap: Kirstie Alley survived two on-stage dancing mishaps this season - first, she and Maksim Chmerkovskiy fell to the ground during their rumba, then her shoe came off the week after - but the pair still made it to the finals. Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas earned high scores throughout the competition, though the judges often criticized their dances for not being traditional enough. Some were surprised when Ralph Macchio, who consistently danced well and performed despite a knee injury, was eliminated before the finals. Hines Ward's partner, Kym Johnson, was taken to the hospital with a neck injury during rehearsals before the semifinals, but still managed to perform. Kane went on to finish in third place and Alley took second, while Ward took the mirrorball trophy.

Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas
Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Karina Smirnoff
Margaret Cho and Louis van Amstel
Michael Bolton and Chelsie Hightower
David Hasselhoff and Kym Johnson
Season Recap: Season 11 started off with a shocking elimination when "Baywatch" actor David Hasselhoff became the first dancer to go. The surprises kept on coming as Bristol Palin escaped elimination every week, despite receiving mediocre scores from the judges, while stronger dancers like Audrina Patridge left the competition earlier than expected. The most shocking elimination came when Brandy, who regularly earned top scores, was booted right before the semi-finals. Her exit left Palin, Kyle Massey and Jennifer Grey to dance in the finals. Palin came in third place, Massey in second and Grey won the mirrorball trophy.

Season Recap: Former "90210" star Shannen Doherty was the first to go on the show's 10th season, while Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek established themselves as strong contenders. Astronaut Buzz Aldrin left after Doherty, and he was followed by soap opera actor Aiden Turner. Reality TV star Kate Gosselin was eliminated after her much-mocked stiff dancing in the fifth week, and "Bachelor" star Jake Pavelka made a teary exit the week after. Actresses Pamela Anderson and Niecy Nash were the next two to go, followed by NFL star Chad Ochocinco. The final three came down to Scherziner, Lysacek and ESPN reporter Erin Andrews. Andrews was eliminated during the show's finale, while Lysacek came in second to Scherzinger and partner Derek Hough.

Two more double eliminations followed, with actress Melissa Joan Hart and snowboarder Louis Vito both leaving on the same night, and former NFL player Michael Irvin and "Iron Chef" America Host Mark Dacascos doing the same the week after. Former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay withdrew from the competition after the third week because of stress fractures in his feet, while others fought through injuries and the flu. Season Recap: Injuries sidelined two "DWTS" celebrities, "Access Hollywood" host Nancy O'Dell and singer Jewel, before the show could even begin. But Playboy model Holly Madison and "Bachelor" winner Melissa Rycroft (who was dumped after the show ended) stepped in and competed in their places. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak received the second-lowest score in show history for his samba with Karina Smirnoff, and real-life couple Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough competed (and were eliminated) together. "Sex and the City" actor Gilles Marini was a front-runner and scored high throughout the competition, but eventually he and Cheryl Burke came in second to Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and partner Mark Ballas, who took home this season's mirrorball trophy.

Osmond also fainted during the judges' critique of her samba in week 5, but stayed to receive her score (she got a 21). The elimination of Cheetah Girls singer Sabrina Bryan and partner Mark Ballas during week 6 shocked both the judges and fellow contestants, and TV Guide named it the most shocking television event of 2007. Racing champion H»lio Castroneves took the title home that season, and former Spice Girl Mel B came in second, making her the first female runner-up in the show's history.
