Dog Abuse Suspect Cleared To Live With One

(CBS/AP)  A University of Colorado student accused of taping her boyfriend's dog to a refrigerator will be allowed to live at her mother's home in Chicago this summer, even though her mother has a dog.

Boulder County Judge Noel Blum granted the request from 20-year-old Abby Toll on Monday.

Toll was arrested April 14 after police say she and her boyfriend got into a fight at his apartment. Police say she used packing tape to bind the legs, snout and tail of the 2-year-old shiba inu, then stuck the dog, upside down, to the side of the refrigerator.

Police say Toll later told them she taped the animal to the fridge because she was mad at her boyfriend for refusing to get rid of the dog.

Toll is charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals and drug possession.

Toll also was accused of slapping her boyfriend and throwing a vase and soda bottle at him. In addition, police say they found a trace amount of heroin in her possession at the jail, CBS-4 reported last month.

The dog, Rex, was taken to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley with Toll's Chihuahua, which wasn't involved in the alleged abuse, reported CBS-4. The society said that Beck has signed over custody of Rex, and the dog will be put up for adoption after going through some training.

"Our training staff is working with him to get him over his fear issues, to get him more socialized with people so he can trust humans again," society CEO Lisa Pedersen said.

I looked up shiba inu and it says some owners struggle with obedience woth these dogs. Maybe she taped it to keep it away from her dog. Not the best of choices I agree.

Please don't let this idiot have children, I would hate to think what she would do with them. As far as her living with another dog, I say poor dog and how long before she gets mad at her mother and kills it.

Mad at her boyfriend because she couldn't get her way about the dog, so what does she do??!! Take it out on the dog...yeah, that's a mature, responsible way to think and behave...
