(CBS/AP)  Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria and her fiancée, Daniel Westling, will have one less thing to think about as their wedding approaches: a new home.

The couple received a gift on Thursday from their goverment -- a grand, 19th Century palace.

Haga Palace, on the outskirts of Stockholm, was previously used by the government as a residence for visiting foreign dignitaries.

But after the couple's marriage next year on June 19, 2010, the residence will return to the monarch.

The royal family moved from the relatively modest palace in 1947, and two decades later turned over the rights of disposal to the government.

The palace was completed in 1805, and was used by Swedish royals as a permanent or temporary residence. Victoria's father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, was born there.

The Swedish heiress is the oldest child of the king and Queen Silvia.

Many congratulations to the Royal Couple! It took SO long to finally get the approval for this engagement & marriage.....I know they must be deeply in love....with a love that will LAST! As most Royal Watchers know, Her Highness the Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has started a "Mary Foundation" to help those side-lined by life, or under-privileged in some way. With all respect, I would like to suggest that Crown Princess Victoria and the soon-to-be Prince Daniel start a similar foundation -- perhaps to help build homes for the less fortunate, in celebration of their own new palace! Funds for this could come, partially, from, perhaps, the sale of a book about their new lives and new home. ( When given Clarence House to live in, the-then Princess Eliabeth and her then-new Husband, Prince Phillip, were so happy, that they caused to be produced, a wonderful book, simply entitled, "Clarence House". While I am not sure what the profits from this book were used for, it is now a true and glorious collector's item, and I am sure that a similar item, bringing the joy of this current, wonderful Swedish engagment, plus a glimpse into the new, sumptuous royal home, would go a long way to not only help the needy in Sweden, (and perhaps, elsewhere?), but also be a very good sign, to the whole world, that the Swedish Monarchy CARES about its land and its people.....and that the "green work" of the current king, is rivaled only by the caring, (and sharing!), of the Crown Princess, and Crown Prince-to-Be. (I know I'D buy that book....maybe two copies! And I'm sure most other royal-watchers would, too!) Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

We should build our queen a new palace, our at least modernise Buckingham palace and build a new quarter to Windsor castle.

Democracy is stupid they screw up the country to make short term profits were as our queen looks after our long term interests.

They can have their royals if they want. Sweden as a country has done a lot for their citizens. I'd rather have one symbolic royal family than the many corporate masters controlling the U.S. government.

As the world economic system collapses, you still have people in Europe pretending to be royalty and put on silly costumes nad make-believe.

This is world can be so sickening sometimes.
