"Craigslist Killer" Suspect's Dark Side

By
CBSNews
(CBS)  In an exclusive interview with the New York Daily News, a college friend of alleged "Craigslist Killer" Philip Markoff discussed an incident with him four years ago - possibly fueled by alcohol - which may have provided a glimpse into the medical student's dark side, reports CBS News correspondent Daniel Sieberg.

"He pushed me up against the wall and tried kissing me," Morgan Houston told the paper in the videotaped interview, obtained exclusively by CBS News.

"I couldn't physically get him off of me," Houston told the paper.

Another disturbing turn - woman's underwear belonging to his alleged victims, women who he contacted through their ads for sexual services on Craigslist.com, found in Markoff's Boston residence.

Analysts refer to such items as "souvenirs" from the scene.

Also discovered in Markoff's possession, a hollowed out medical textbook - Gray's Anatomy - with a gun hidden inside.

"I never could have imagined a double-life or that he was capable of using violence to get what he wanted," says James Kehoe, a friend of the suspect.

Markoff stands accused of stalking two women who advertised erotic acts on Craigslist, robbing one and killing another, Julissa Brisman.

A Connecticut casino is cooperating with the investigation, as questions mount over Markoff's possible gambling debts as possible a motive for the alleged attacks.

Meanwhile, a wake was held Wednesday for Brisman - an aspiring model and actress who was found dead with three gunshot wounds.

"At least he's in jail now, you know, and he's going to get what he deserves," said Jennie Guzman, Brisman's cousin.

The Rhode Island Attorney General's office confirms they're preparing to press charges in a similar case in that state in the coming days.

I don?t understand how craigslist let things get this far. It is a shame that they just do not seem to care! I don?t want to use them anymore until they take responsibility for their site and it?s contents. My brother suggested I use addanything.com . They are a lot more responsible for their content. Anyone else have any suggestions for new craigslists?

I caught a brief moment of a news blurb discussing Markoff . . . his "best friend" was being quoted as stating Markoff told him "... consider this my goodbye"

...and something to the effect ...the other stuff he did will be found out.
From the statement, we all can expect more heinousness from this case.

Maybe his gun and DNA or finger prints will link up other issues?

PLEASE!
People who advertise "massage" on craigslist are hardly legit. They take tables with them to avoid being arrested for prostitution. The true professionals don't need to give hand jobs and sex for money. This is clearly a ruse for piggy little hos. They don't have to stand on the corner and maybe don't have a pimp (although I'm pretty sure most of these low lifes have some man collecting a fee). Still a ho is a ho is a ho. Not saying psychos should stalk them but hey, you play, you pay. Check out any craigslist, ****** a plenty. The whole list is a dumping ground for losers.

BTW Ubrew12, How do YOU know the "vast majority" of "johns" are non-violent? Where have you been getting your facts? From HER perspective or from HIS? Either way, I have to say "ewwwwww."

Women who do this sort of thing earn $50,000 to $100,000 a year, none of it taxable. The vast majority of their johns are only too happy to part with their money and are nonviolent. This is a very unusual occurance. So, they take the risk. In a down economy, basically, your common sense 101 isn't taken.

Wow! So you are basically saying that ******** (and tax evasion) are permissable (and even recommended) during a recession! Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that? Excuse me while I change into my nightie so I can make some tax free $$$$. Whooo Hooo! ...I just hope I don't run into someone whose gonna punch my lights out and then bust a cap in my a.s.s.!

It is what it is lithium, an opinion based on careful and lifelong observations. This guy is not unique, is what I'm saying, unfortunately that woman had to die because of his fascination and I believe desire for money. Reading and hearing stuff like this on the news is kinda risky when forming opinions as to the suspects persona. But my last blog was pure and simple knowledge and wisdon I was sharing, call it what you will. Again,I see it everyday. These women always pick the wrong guy, you have to trust your instincts, you can't be swayed by superficial things.
Living here in L. A. I know this all to well. I hate to cast sterotypes, but I see women go for these guys with tatoos, muscles, a pony tail, they love them. No problem. Only thing a lot of these guys are brain dead. They look good, but, thats about it. The guy whose clean cut going to school or working every day, he may get a girl or girls, but he's quickly having to deal with manipulation and exploitation, in other words they try and play 'em, soak 'em spend all their money. Its truly sad. Again, I'm being real, I hate stereotypes but, I have to use them as an example.

I myself, I'm in the car culture out here in L.A. I have a tricked out GMC truck, a real head turner. I meet women all the time in that truck. But, when I get out and take the bus or walk, forget it. Not in L. A. I'm just an anoynomous bug at that point. Its truly sad. I woke up to that not to long ago. Just one day I decide to approach people on foot casuallly dressed and away from the limelight so to speak, I got brushed off for real.

Be careful out there people is all I'm saying, and above all be yourself, always. Be yourself I can't emphasize that enough, don't be a phony or flake, let your warts and moles show from day 1, don't fool people into liking you.

I see these type guys in real life every single day. All of 'em have nice looing girlfriends and wives. How do the y get these women? How did the Governor of New Jersey & New York get their wives. How did Teg Haggard and jimmy Swaggert get wives. I see cases like this on CBS 48 Hours Mysterys and Dateline NBC every single week. Lets not talk about Cheaters that comes on, on Saturday nites. Again, how do these guys get these women, that they're involved with.

The Laws of Averages state that no one or no thing can sustain and maintain a certain pattern or act without drifting away from that particular act at least once or more at some point. The Laws of Averages rule this universe. No sports team can win championships every single year over a sustained and long period, none.

My point, at some time in their relationship these people had to have shown some of their true self, they're not that good of an actor. Another troubling story was the kid who kille himself in that state of Massachusetts, last week, I think he wasa 12 years old, kids taunting and bullying him at school, because they said he acted gay. His mother said he was flamboyant, and expressive, but, she says she never asked him was he gay. How sad. This guy fiancee of course shes going to defend him, the delayed reaction hasn't hit her yet. She was fooled, she didn't want to see the real him.

Most of these people like this guy who killed that woman, have dynamic personalitys, in essence they're b s artists, very convincing. I guarantee you there was what you would call nice guys in her life who liked her but she flat out didn't want to have any part of them. Nice guys never get the girl. I see it every nite on the 11: o'clock news, these women getting shot, murdered, abused, battered, and every thing in the book, and when they interview their relatives, neighbors co-workers, etc. its always the same thing said, so and so was so warm and fuzzy, how could anyone do that to that poor wonderful woman, please. And despite that women are still attracted to these clowns by the millions. On "Cheaters" every single week its always somebody thats married to a genuinely nice man whose a great provider and husband whose wife gets caught screwing someone with less than half the credentials as the husband, who grabs and tosses her around aggressively, having sex with them in back seats of cas, in parks, etc. something the husband would never do. They just totally disrespect nice people, thats why I never feel sorry for them when they're on the news. All these people in abuse shelters, please, turst me they had a choice, there was always someone nice who wanted them and they rejected for the clown who they chose and put ithem in those abuse shelters.

Well give her some credit for being resourceful. Her family had invested a lot of money in this thing, and now they want it all back.
