Cheerleader Coach Fired After Posing Nude

Ron Jones with CBS 13 in Sacramento has the story about a local woman who was fired from her job as a cheerleading coach after she turned up in Playboy magazine.

"The girls are supposed to look up their coaches," says one concerned parent at Casa Robles High School.

Carlie Christine bared all, all over the internet. Casa Robles High School officials in Orangevale confirm with CBS13 that their girl's cheerleading coach, Carlie Christine, was the one who posed nude in a playboy centerfold.

Christine is also Playboy's 'cyber girl of the week.'

Parents and some students, who did not want to be identified, exposed the coach to school officials after rumors started slowly getting out that she had posed nude.

"I think it's unacceptable. It's not fair," says Jamye Curtis.

What apparently uncovered the coach was when some girls didn't make the cheerleading squad because they had a few unexcused absences from school. Their parents then made copies of Christine and dropped the pictures on the principal's desk.

I watched the news this morning, and listened t the parents. They CLAIM a double standard. A Double Standard? A child is not allowed to do something that is illigal for a minor, pose nude in adult magazines, which and adult teach it is allowed.

This is not double standards. If it was, then we would have NO teachers what-so-ever.

It's a double standard for a teacher to drink alcohol in his/her home if children are not.

It's a double standard for teachers to smoke and students cannot.

Also, I feel this is far more damaging than the alternative, which is letting it go. They are teaching our children that their morale beliefs are more important than constitutional rights, freedom of expression. Totally agree. Additionally one question that comes to mind is. Did she pose for Playboy before or after taking the coaching job? If she posed before then they definately have to right to fire her unless she lied on her application or was otherwise decepetive about posing for Playboy before being hired. If she posed after accepting he job and knew or should have know it was against school policy, then that is a different matter, although it still smells of sour grapes as to the timing of the whole issue.

Playboy magazine is much like porn movies. If you don't like then don't look. I am sure no one put a gun to that "Former cheerleader Captain" or her parent's heads and forced them to look at the nude pictures of their daughter's coach. Kind of makes a person wonder just how long dad (or mom for that matter these days) "studied" the pictures before making the decision to take action against the coach. I would bet it was not too long after their precious daughter got dumpted off the team for being truant.

First of all, I do understand that it is not a good influence on young ladies these days. But, the coach did this before being hired. Second, if any school or business did searches on most of their employees past they will probably find many of them did things that would not be a good influence on their children (including the child's own parents!)....college-all of the parties and things that happens there are a lot worse than this.

I watched this mother on the today show this morning and this was just another angry Jewish woman who's daughter got caught ditching school and punished. This was nothing nothing more than revenge.

This idiot mom, who couldn't even pose for the biker magazine, needs to stop living life through her chubby spoiled daughter.

The real story here is the fact that this cheerleader coach is the victim of some parents revenge. If their child was not cut from the cheerleading squad, this would not ot be an issue. Ask yourself, what did this woman do that was so wrong that it warranted the school to fire her? Who did she offend? Who did she hurt? What negative affect did this have on the faculty, staff and students at that high school. We pay teachers pennies to teach and guid hour children and expect them not to make an honest living on their own time. I'm sure she probably posed for Playboy because she needed the suppliment her income. She looks great and probably decided to use what she has to make some extra money to pay bills. The photos were taken in good taste and not one of them were vulgar. It's no different than sunbathing on the beach in bikini or posing in one.

Maybe the parents who were so mad about their kids not making the squad should be mad about why their kids were absent from school without an excuse instead of taking it out on the coach by publicly embarrising her on the national front.

The only reason this became an issue is that the student broke the rules. The coach should NOT have been fired, the pictures have nothing to do with her ability to do her job. She was qualified to get the job and her playboy pictures should not be an issue.
Some very respected people have posed for playboy. It is not fair to fire someone, because of a spoiled kid broke the rules. The school is teaching the wrong message to the students. All teachers should beware because the authority is in the hands of the students.

The way I see it is that the US of A is so prudish still. The female figure is nothing but an object of beauty. If this woman violated a contract agreement with the board of education then maybe yes, she should be fired. If in fact she posed for playboy before the Cheerleading stint then no she should not be fired!
Every time we punish a man or a woman for making adult decisions about posing in risque or nude photography we are lying to ourselves and our children. We all as adults seek the what turns us on(the male or female form). If we tell our selves or our children that its wrong then we are far more screwed up than I originally thought.

If the decision was made as an adult to pose, involved no minors, no one got hurt and there was no contract violation then the case should be a non issue. You can not apply new laws to old and acceptable practices. What I would really like to know is why did these unhappy parents, of the dejected cheerleaders, resort to obtaining the photos of this woman? It's obvious they knew about it ahead time or were in fact looking at her pictures in playboy and decided to use them in revenge. Would any of this made the news if the girls were not turned down? I highly doubt it!
As for the parents who presented the pictures to the school board, you have just sent you children and yourselves a double standard. Its wrong to look at and pose for playboy yet you all looked at it in order to use it as a weapon!

The crux of the issue is WHEN were the pics taken? If before she was hired, then she should not have been fired unless there was a clause in her contract prohibiting such behavior outside of school. The "double standard" argument does not work. The coach can drink alcohol and the students cannot. Get real people. Some parents would want her fired if someone heard her cursing. One parent's objection is not enough. My girl on her squad? Pics would not determine that. How she handled her DUTIES would.

WE, the public, have a right to demand a higher standard from our teachers and other public servants. This coach should have known better and that this would become an issue. Your story is slanted to garner public support for this person, and in reality, she is getting the public humiliation she deserves.

The fact of where the photos came from or who brought it to attention is just a smoke screen.
