Major League Baseball enters the 2009 season with 10 minority managers, matching a 2002 record, and an all-time high five general managers. The league's grade for gender is slightly worse, but still represents an improvement from last year - up from a score of 76 to 81, which is good for a "B+."
The report also showed that the number of African-American players, in decline for the last 15 years, actually rose to 10.2 percent from a record low of 8.2 percent last season. The 2009 Racial and Gender Report Card: Major League Baseball

- I know baseball lovers really love statistics, but this is ridiculous and has nothing to with baseball. Perhaps you need to start keeping a separate set of statistics for each player 's racial ethnic or religious voting block you think they belong to, so you can draw some political social conclusions ! Your racist assumptions are a disgrace, and only add unwanted tension between me and this other guy just trying to live in this messed up America ...together!

- Too bad Hollywood movies and TV can't do they same. That place still is one of the last bastions of racial stereotyping and exclusion. Sorry Hollywood, the White and Black buddy movies were tired when you first started them, and they are sick now. There are other Americans out there that are not being fairly portrayed in movies or TV.
All we see is White or Black. I guess Afro-Americans are the stand in for all other races out there that are taking an active part of American culture, from scientists to judges. Come on. Oh, yeah, the Asian doctor, I guess, cus' Hollywood says "they're smurt." That's it with very few exceptions. Gee, there was even a movie with a character called Cruz played by one red headed White guy who made no pretense to being Latino.
Hollywood segregationist policies live on. - Reply to this comment
