Levi's Family Fears Lack Of Access To Baby

CBSNews
(CBS)  Levi Johnston, the teenage father of Sarah Palin's grandson, accuses Palin and her family of spreading lies about him and his family and keeping him from spending time alone with his three-month-old son, Tripp.

In an interview with Early Show co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, Levi also offers a look at his relationship, past and present, with Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol, his ex-fiancée and Tripp's mother. Among other things, Levi asserts Bristol is being "short" with him when he speaks with her these days.

And Levi's mother, Sherry Johnston, was very candid and emotional about her family's concerns that the Palins will limit their time with Tripp -- so much so that, Rodriguez says, they want a pow-wow with the Palins to work out a custody arrangement. Sherry admitted she's "begging" the Palins to be fair.

In a perfect world, Sherry told Rodriguez, "Everything will be reconciled. (I hope) we can get together, if for no other reason, (than) for Tripp. He deserves to know both grandmas and grandpas, and aunts and uncles. And mom and dad.

"I had a really rough summer," Sherry said, as she began to cry, "and he was what kept me going. Just waiting for him."

Wiping tears from her eyes, Sherry continued, "I mean, and Bristol and I talked about it a lot. Just like, 'Well, you'll have Tripp soon. And he'll be there for you." '

"You're still waiting"? Rodriguez asked.

"I'm hoping," Sherry responded. After a pause, she added, "I'm begging."

Levi says things began to get rocky in his relationship with Bristol when Sarah Palin was named as John McCain's running mate on the Republican presidential ticket last fall.

"It started going downhill a little bit,' Levi says, "and we just started fighting, and things weren't working out. ... Their attitudes changed. ... We just weren't seeing eye-to-eye with each other anymore. And I didn't like it. And I thought it'd be best that we-- we both did -- break up for a little bit and see what happens. ... We just couldn't, like, have a conversation without fighting, I guess, anymore. It was-- it was just getting really bad.

"We talk every day, every other day." And the conversations are "real short. You know, I call her to see -- see how my baby's doing. That kind of thing. But we don't really sit there and talk. Like, 'How are you -- how you been?' I mean, she's real short with me."

Does Levi have a daddy? We know his mommy is a drug addict, where is his father? Why do we never hear from him? Bristol should do whatever she can do to keep this loser away from her child. He is evil.

tugar04: Exactly when do you think she had time to shop for those clothes? Think about it! She was either on the road or in the air traveling from rally to rally about 18 hours of every day. Most of the time for over two months during the campaign she was in about three or four states a day. The only time that she wasn't campaigning was when she was sleeping. Exactly when did she have time to shop? She only has 24 hours in a day, just as we do! Aides form the RNC bought those clothes and you know it! I doubt that she even told them where to shop! She told them their sizes and the aides did the rest! I doubt that anyone told them to shop at the most expensive stores in the country. That was all their idea either because they thought that a candidate for the vice presidency and their family should look their best and shouldn't wear cheap clothing or they did it deliberately to cause a scandal and to smear her and make her look bad because they didn't like her. Either way, common sense should tell you that Sarah Palin didn't buy those clothes because she just didn't have time!

Folks? I BELIEVE LEVI"S SPIN ON THIS STORY ?

When Sarah included Levi as a family member, bringing him out on the RNC stage with the rest of her family and received one of her motherly kisses, no less, I thought she was nuts.
There would be no way in H, I would have brought this kid who had impregnated my 17 year old, daughter to appear on stage with the rest of my family. I may not have wanted to publicaly, punch him out, but I certainly would not have had him up on that stage as I accepted and received the national VP nomination.

Then Sarah went on to campaign, mentioning: "Family Values" at just about every stop. She totted her entire family around the country on the RNC"s dime, buying expensive clothes that they later had to go after her for, because apparently, they did not find the clothes "IN THE BELLY OF THE PLANE."

IN SHORT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN?
Sarah Palin and her "Family Values" are straight out of a trailer park. And someone was really watching over America, when she and John McCain went down in defeat on 11/4/08.

Phxfire: No one has said anything about Levi quitting school but have you ever heard of working after school and on weekends? It can be done! People do it everyday and a minimum wage job is better than no job at all and would do until he finishes school and finds a better job! I know you probably think Levi's just a teenage boy and deserves free time to act like a teenager and to hang out with his friends but he forfeited his right to act like a teenager when he got Bristol pregnant and then became a father! He has a child to support now. A child that will need food, clothing, and a shelter over his head for about the next 20 years or until he can support himself and the Palins should not have to pay for all of his support even if they do have more money than Levi. Besides a real man supports his child and doesn't rely on his ex-girlfriend and her parents to support his child no matter how rich they are!

phxfire: She didn't lie about accepting the stimulus money! She didn't accept it but she didn't stop individual projects and programs in her state from applying for it and accepting it. They are free to apply for the money. They will just have to apply for it on their own and not through her office! She isn't the only one who didn't accept the stimulus money, too! There are several other governors who didn't accept it! Bobby Jindal is one and there are others. They took the time to read the 1000 page package and they found that there are strings attached and they wanted no part of it! The other governors didn't take the time to read the package before they accepted the money and they will probably regret it when they really see what the stimulus package consists of!

Phxfire: I am sorry that you think I'm shrill and rude but I'm no more shrill and rude than the Palin haters on this board with their snide remarks and hateful comments and outright lies that they've been spouting! I have as much right to speak as they do! You just don't agree with me and don't like what I'm saying!

I don't think anyone is considering the fact that Bristol might be breastfeeding and that could be one of the reasons that she won't allow Levi to take the baby out of her home! Since Levi is a man he is not equipped to breastfeed!

eroosevelt08: She does allow him to see the baby but she controls when and how he is allowed to see him. His visits are supervised and she won't allow him to take the baby out of her home. That is her right since he is unemployed and doesn't pay child support!

imprisonrove: How do know Levi didn't want to marry Bristol? From what I've read it was the other way around! She kicked him out!
