Saving Face On Facebook

Users Should Exercise Caution When Creating An Online Profile On The Popular Social Networking Web Site

  •  (CBS)

(CBS)  You might think you're a private person and you don't really need an image consultant. But if you're using a social networking Web site like Facebook or MySpace, you do have a very "public" persona and hundreds of people could be judging you, based on your image.

Early Show contributor Laila Ali takes a look at how to convey your best image online.

According to Ali, 175 million people use the popular social networking site Facebook to keep their friends and family and sometimes even total strangers up to date about their daily lives.

Facebook users need to be sensitive about the very public nature of the Web site -- whether you're a public figure or not, Ali pointed out.

She went on to demonstrate creating a Facebook page with all kinds of personal information, such as photos, favorite movies, organizations, etc.

I like posting to Laila Ali on Facebook, but other folks know what I'm writing. Too many people from work has found me on Facebook, and so many people are connected. I don't feel comfortable on Facebook.
