- Great Story and it happens only in America!! Are we Americans?? Proformance is the Key!!
A young man comes from no where, and makes its good. Its not important how much money he earns, this is in no way an issue. The fact that he is able to support his family and give his mother a a better life, thats what it all about. No one talks about the amount of money Bill Gates earns. If you don't like sports, then don't attend the games. The American way, your able to spend your money as you wish.
If Pmiller123 could earn 20 million every year, would he or she say no???
Keep it real folks, we are American...Free Market.
Charluzzo..
Regarding Taxpayers footing the bill for the Hall of Fame: As Pmiller123 wrote he or she believes, but doesn't know, and the fact is the taxpayers have not been ask to pay for anything. Its not what one believe, but what you know. - Reply to this comment
- While many cast their vitriol against Wall St. and CEOs, I've yet to hear any type of outrage being lobbed at pro athletes, so-called talented recording "artists", Hollywood-types, studios, etc. for receiving their immorally and disgustingly inflated salaries. No one, absolutely no one deserves to be paid the sums of money these types are receiving. Since the 1980s, pay levels began to get out of hand for these types, and it continues today. This type of madness needs to end, just as the egregious pay packages for those on Wall St.

- "but this was ridiculeous waste of time "
Judging by your grammar, or lack thereof, I am having a hard time feeling sorry for you. Not to mention that this website has a built-in spell-check.
If you didn't want to read about LeBron James, why did you click on the link? Why did you even respond? Did you feel that your comment somehow holds merit? By criticizing CBS or LeBron James do you feel you have somehow spoken for the 'general public'?
Please, give me a break. I for one am glad for this article and found it very intriguing. Pro-athletes are like the winners of popularity contests. They hold the most chips when it comes to influence. On top of that, 60 Minutes is a show that 'Profiles' political figures, celebrities, and yes, pro-athletes. Get over yourself and go back to grade school. - Reply to this comment

- I cannot believe in this time of world wide problems that you would waste 15 minute segment on this guy whos only claim to fame is that he is 6'9" in a world with 8 ft baskets and who was obviously a self centered jerk on something
I have watched 60 minutes every week for 40 years and do not always agree with your choices, but this was ridiculeous waste of time
How much of these billions he is making does he give back to his poor neighborhood schools where he was raised??? - Reply to this comment
- Not amused by the Lebron James story. Have recently read a story how the Basketball Hall of Fame can hardly pay its monthly bills. These athletes who earn wierd amounts of money should step up and foot the bill to keep this afloat. Last time the Hall of Fame was in trouble I believe us taxpayers foot the bill to keep it running.
