Here's a job opportunity you won't need to buy a new wardrobe for.
Hoping to take advantage of Rhode Island's floundering economy, owners of the Foxy Lady strip club in Providence plan to hold a job fair on Saturday.
They say they're looking to fill around 30 positions, from strippers and waitresses to disc jockeys and bartenders, at that club and two others in Massachusetts.
"I need more managers, I need more competent staff, and I need more attractive waitresses to go along with the ones I have right now," said co-owner Tom Tsoumas.
The naked truth is that Rhode Island's economy is among the worst in the nation, with an unemployment rate of 10.3 percent in January.
The Providence club isn't immune from the recession but is still drawing customers willing to drink and pay for lap dances, said manager Bob Travisono.
"It's taken a hit," he said. "It's not as bad as restaurants and stuff like that. In times like this, they seem to drink their sorrows away."
Tsoumas said he hopes some who might shun strip clubs when the economy is good might consider shedding their clothes now - or at least working as a floor host or bartender.

My beef with the strip bar is the $10/beer and the string of overwieght toothless women you have to sit through to see a feature dancer.
And as far as the lapdances go - every guy in the town with a case of the clap goes to the strip bar because no one else would have them. Who's lap was she on last.

Amen. Isn't it funny how traumatic is was to everyone when Janet Jackson's naked breast got flashed on television during the Super Bowl...but a few days later the lice broadcast of the shooting death of a fugituve by law enforcement officers drew very little comment. Apparently, tender children can be emotionally scarred by the sight of a woman's breast but not by watching the live broadcast of a person's violent death.

Want me to hold your jacket Will?? 8-P
All this talk about strippers, poles, no clothes has me wanting to kick off my heels and strip off my capri and halter top on top of my desk!!

We gotta take you shopping. The halter top is so not age-appropriate, unless you want to look like a cougar. :)
do you think that it is down grading to women or what is your deal with this whole story??? Have you ever been to the strippers???
for these women to make the BIG BUCKS they have to
give head, and actually f_ck as many customers in one
night as possible.
That is a fact that is denied and that the media never
investigates.
Thousand of dollars in one night or even a whole week
is IMPOSSIBLE to attain by just dancing.
Good luck girls.

At a good topless joint, a dancer can make $1000/week without doing anything dangerous of illegal. That's if she's pretty and a good performer.
