First Lady's First 50 Days

It's been 50 days since President Obama was sworn into office, so it has also been 50 days since his wife became the nation's first lady. And during that time, Michelle Obama has found her footing in a glamorous new world.

Everyone wants an invitation to her parties and she's graced several magazine covers. Even Oprah is giving up a slice for the first time. She's the focus of fashionistas, reports CBS News correspondent Thalia Assuras.

Those buff arms igniting commentary and websites produce constant chatter.

Michelle Obama has created a stir like no other first lady.

With a movie star-like quality, a genuine concern for the community and putting her role as "Mommy-in-Chief" to the forefront, Michelle Obama's popularity rating has soared to new heights.

Perhaps her harsh look can be toned down by doing something with those artificially arched eyebrows. She is redefining what the so-called fashion savvy woman is; most of her specially designed clothes look cheap and street-walker-ish. And, although she has defined upper arms, she needs to give it a rest and cover them up. She bears them too much and it's a distraction. She needs to begin developing what her causes will be instead of trying to use her outward and superficial looks to define who she hopes to be. She should be making the news not the news making her.

My God! Give me a break!!! All this for an extremely hateful person who is not "proud" of the country that put her in the White House. She makes us all feel sick What she should be hateful about is her dentist.

I really think it is a bit overdone here. Pics on every magazine? Is she a model or the First Lady? And while people are losing jobs and worried about paying their bills, these parties are thrown every Wednesday? Again it just goes to show you that it is "do as I say and not as I do".
