(CBS)  An Austin, Texas, family has put themselves on the eBay auction block.

After a recent lay-off, the dad is hoping to get corporate sponsorship for his family. On the family's eBay page it says, "let us represent you and be your brand ambassadors."

The Guerra family - Loren, Katina, Isabella, Sebastian and Evangeline - is hoping there is a company out there willing to pay the reserve price of $50,000. The auction ends Sunday.

"Explain what you're auction auctioning off?" asked Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen.

"We are auctioning off our brand ambassador services for a brand that is looking to have an all-American family basically represent their brand," said Loren Guerra.

He then gave some examples of ideal work situations for him and his family.

I don't think this mother and father has thought this out very much. Did they even think that they were selling their family into bondsmanship. If someone purchases this family, then they will own them. Stop and think, do they really want this for their children. To grown up as slaves. I think history has already taken this to the maximum. If the mother or the father want to sell themselves, that's their business, but, to sell their children. Don't they realize what they are doing, anyone that buys them, can split them up, or do whatever they want with them, because they will be their property. If they are as smart as I hope they are, they will remove this from ebay, and just ask for a job, if that is what they really need. WE DO NOT NEED THIS HISTORY REPEATED!!!!!
