The Early Show's "Singing Family Face Off" competition began last fall, when we asked viewers to send in tapes of their family bands performing original songs. We got a bunch of entries, and narrowed it down to six finalists.

Last week and Monday, features reporter and weather anchor Dave Price went around the country, knocking on the doors of the six families who made it into the finals, surprising each one live on national TV!

The first clash of finalists came Wednesday. On the next two Wednesdays, the other four families will compete, facing off two at a time.

In each Face Off, you'll get to vote for your favorite by going to our Web site.

The three bands who win their face offs will compete against each other for the right to go one-on-one in our grand finale four weeks from now. And the winning family will receive a CBS Records contract.

I just got to watch the two families, the Boardwines and the Oswalds, online today, unfortunatly after the voting was made. I feel the Boardwines should of made the cut. They were more in tune, not only with the song with their vocal, but also with each other! The Oswalds were good, but needed more refining with how they work together as a 'Team'. Even though you didn't make the cut Boardwine Family, don't give up, there is a good future out there somewhere for all of you as a band! GREAT JOB !! Hope to hear about you all in the future as a succeding band.

Go Oswald's!

Can't believe CBS let David get away with the things he said. The judges were lame in their comments. I thought the Oswald's were great! You guys did a outstanding job and I'm sure people who listened to the song and watched your performance weren't paying any attention to the color of your shoes! David probably wanted you to loose your shoes because he has a matching belt at home!

The Boardwine's song was all wrong for them. Oswald Brothers rocked on theirs! Go all the way to first place, Oswalds....

I thought both bands did a really great job.......but I give my vote to the Boardwines. All in all I thought they performed better and I believe the Oswalds forgot lyrics at one point. Both bands, I believe, have promising fututres in the music industry.
