(CBS)  The grandmother of almost month-old octuplets denies that her daughter, the babies' mother, went under the knife to look like one of Hollywood's most beautiful people -- Angelina Jolie.

In an exclusive interview with the grandmother, Angela Suleman, talks to Early Show co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, about the media speculation that her daughter Nadya had plastic surgery to resemble Jolie.

"Did Nadya ever say that she admired Jolie or wanted to be like her?" Rodriguez asked.

"No. She never mentions celebrities. She's really not into that kind of thing. People think that she, you know, admires her. But, I don't think so," Suleman said.

"People say that she even had plastic surgery to look like her," Rodriguez added.

"I don't think so. No. No, I don't think she ever did. She gained 130 pounds. So that makes a difference in the facial features, in her wherever, you know, when you gain 130 pounds, goodness, I'd hate (she laughed) this to happen to me. I probably would change a lot, too," Suleman said.

"Tell me about the sperm donor. How did she meet him?" Rodriguez asked.

"They were just friends. And she's a very persuasive, well-spoken young woman. And somehow she must have talked him into it," said Suleman.

"Has she been in contact with him since the babies were born?" Rodriguez asked.

"I'm sure she may have spoken with him," Suleman said.

According to Suleman, at this point, the sperm donor isn't a part of Nadya's other six children's lives, but she would like to see him be a part of all their lives.

"Every child needs a father. But my daughter wanted to raise these children by herself. So that, I think, is a kind of a little selfish act. I don't know why she would not have a father, the father of these children in her life. I don't," Suleman said.

"Do you think he was paid for the sperm?" Rodriguez asked.

"I don't know. She's so persuasive. I doubt that she had to pay (she laughed) for anything really. She's a very convincing person," Suleman said.

"What would you like to see happen to your daughter?" Rodriguez asked.

"I would like to somehow get enough money to get a house for these babies, but you know, she starts working, she won’t be able to take care of them because then it's up to me and I would like start living a little too," Suleman admitted.

"Do you see yourself as sort of a victim of something?" Rodriguez asked.

"No. I'm not a victim because I can just get up and go. And I think I'm gonna do this very soon. I'm gonna go visit my sister in Europe and my friends and just live it up a little," Suleman said.

"Do you think these kids are victims?" Rodriguez asked.

"Not really. You know, they are really very happy children. They're very happy. They love their grandma and their mommy. And, you know, I think love is the main thing here. When they know they're loved, things will work out. They'll be normal," Suleman said.

"Who will win the "Single Mommy of the Year" award this year" The race for the "Breeders Cup" is close!
"Murdering Party Mommy" Casey Anthony has a good chance after deciding raising a child while living off her parents was cramping her party girl lifestyle.
Another contender is the "Bedouin Breeding Machine" Nadya Suleman who says "Artificial insemination is cool!!" She doesn''t really need a job when the good folks of California are willing to pick up the tab for 14 children and her mom is willing to give up the rest of her life to help raise the B*A*S*T*A*R*D horde.
Let''s not forget the "Murderous Mommy Monster from New York" who decided maybe having three kids and being single wasn''t such a great idea after all and drowned them in the bathtub before attempting suicide.
Still in the race are the 17 "Future Fishwives of Gloucester High School" who decided no education is complete without crapping a fatherless snot-goblin into the world before graduation. Particularly at the expense of their parents and the taxpayers of Massachusetts. Sooo many choices!!"

You say that as if married couples can't compete for the Breeder's Cup too.

What about Mr. and Mrs. Duggar, who don't bother raising their kids past infancy but make other people (their teenagers) raise their toddlers?

Or Mr. and Mrs. Chukwu, who took so much fertility medicine and crushed so many fetuses into Mrs. Chukwu at once that their daughter Odera was born too small to live more than a few days?

Or Mr. and Mrs. McCaughey, who had septuplets as if their first daughter wasn't good enough and started this whole media-hype-for-multiples trend?

Or Mr. and Mrs. Anthony, who insisted that Casey keep an unwanted baby in the first place when she was pregnant and trying to choose adoption instead (by doing that, they sure helped Casey be able to hurt Caylee)?

I'm sure these couples have 2009 counterparts too. Heck, even some of the Glouchester teen moms might marry their babies' fathers soon - would you all of a sudden consider them responsible if they do that? No, I bet you'd recognize that being married wouldn't erase the irresponsibility.

"There are lots of endangered children in the world to worry about and try to help. Nadya's children are not among them yet, and may never be."

If they're not endangered then why are they still in intensive care in the hospital? ICUs are not for healthy people.

libra217...Get out of here this blogs is for mindless mean spiited behinds. Never in my entire life{52} have I heard such ecuses for being mean and cruel. Most of these folks are doing repeated post mid day so they don't even work or pay much tax but it's a excuse to hate. They have 0 desire to help her or anyone else. In there faulty mental condition this is good fun knocking someone down and laughing at them, yes they are the dregs of society but it makes them feel good about themselves that's how sick they are and don't even realize it.

people a have a right to be angry.

Posted by andie52 at 12:58 PM : Feb 20, 2009

Angry, yes. But not cruel, nasty, derisive, threatening, childish, intrusive, mean....

And the anger, what good does it do really? After a post expressing anger, people should get on with their lives. But a few people here are totally obsessed with this story, and post nasty comment after nasty comment, analyzing every aspect of Nadya's being when they have never even met her, on every story about her that appears. To me, this indicates a problem with the poster.

Some people on this blog seem to be really obsessed with Nadya Suleman and her children. Day after day they post message after message analyzing her mental state, her psychology, her motives, her past, her future, etc. Some of these people are mean and cruel and are just dying for Nadya's children to be taken away from her.

I think some of this obsession is likely due to the hard financial times most of us are struggling with. There seems to be tremendous resentment that Nadya may receive government help that won't be available to the posters. She must be a con artist! In it only for the money! This is ridiculous.

But I also think some of the obsession is due to the fact that Nadya is a single woman who is not abiding by society's "requirement" that a woman must have a man in order to live a happy life. Some posters seem quite threatened by her unconventional lifestyle. Nasty comments are thrown around under the pretense of major concern for the children. There are lots of endangered children in the world to worry about and try to help. Nadya's children are not among them yet, and may never be. Why don't you move on, leave Nadya and her family alone, and try to do some good in the world. Try to help some of the children who desperately need it NOW.

Who the hell paid for her plastic surgery? She has no money, but happens to find some for fertilization and plastic surgery? And quit interviewing these nut jobs. Youre playing into their hands and giving this family what they want. To profit off this whole thing like was planned. It should be disclosed how much money these networks are paying for these interviews. And who cares they are being foreclosed on. They should have used the fertilization and plastic surgery money to pay their bills. Again they are just trying to play on the heartstrings of America to get a free check.

The other grandmother of my daughter's son told him that he should not have to pay child support to my daughter for their child. She said that all the baby needs is love. The judge upped the child support anyway. Go figure. LOL!!!
What's wrong with people who think you can just raise a child on love alone? That does not make you a good mother. It makes you irresponisble in the same way as a 12 year old who decides she doesn't want dolls anymore, she wants a real baby.

For any of those who feel octo mom is being portrayed of judged unfairly just send her your hard earned money :

"Ed Doud said in an interview taped Thursday for "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that the actions of his daughter, Nadya Suleman, and her doctor were "absolutely irresponsible." But he also issued a plea for the public's help, according to excerpts of the interview released by Harpo Productions Inc.

"You know what? She needs help. I say to everybody now _ people _ we do need help," Doud said. "Do not punish my daughter for what she had done and do not punish the babies, because they were given by God."

A California-based nonprofit called Angels in Waiting has offered Suleman round-the-clock care and a place to stay with her 14 children. It would cost about $135,000 a month to provide the 12 caretakers necessary for the children, money that would have to come from public donations, founder Linda West Conforti said in Los Angeles.

The organization has the trained nursing personnel and experience in caring for very sick children, she said. The group, however, could only provide care for a limited time without the donations, she said"

libra...why so hostile? i quite frankly don't care about the woman's facial features,

Posted by justsane at 11:23 PM : Feb 19, 2009

My post was not "hostile". I did, however, find the tone of your post ("would grandma like to provide us...") to be presumptuous and arrogant, and your claim not to "care" about the issue to be belied by the fact you chose to post about it in the first place.

CBSnews is at fault for considering the issue of whether Ms. Suleman has had cosmetic surgery as worthy of a news article. It is symptomatic of its decline toward tabloid journalism, for which there is, sadly, much evidence.

libra...why so hostile? i quite frankly don't care about the woman's facial features, but the article is, after all, about the question of whether or not the young lady has had plastic surgery. her mother says that she thinks not, and i simply proffered an easy way to lay the question to rest.

regarding your earlier post-i think you are mistaken. i don't believe that most people care about her lack of a man in her life; rather, they care about her unrepentant insistence of having 14 children in spite of her complete lack of a means to care for and support them. and yes, i use the word insistence because having children through in vitro is not just the natural consequence of not using birth control. it is planned and it takes money.

regarding your request that we all go out and help "children who desperately need it NOW", i do. as a teacher in a title 1 school i see on a daily basis the impact of parents who are unable to adequately care for their children for reasons of poverty, or mental illness, or families that are simply so large that the children are desperate for attention. my only real interest in this story is in the way it impacts not only these 14 children, but all the many other children whose care may be cut back because of what will surely be a substantial expenditure by government agencies to assist in the care of these children.

would grandma like to provide us with some pictures of her daughter from when she was younger? that would certainly set the record straight on the plastic surgery issue--trust me, you can easily pick out a picture of the young angelina; the lips are a dead giveway. as to her contention that her changes features are the result of the pregnancies? who is she kidding? my lips were the one part of my body that didn't change when i was pregnant!

Oh my god I thought CBS was gonna give it a break but catering to you blood suckers is where the bucks are even Dr. Phil is wining about it for a buck.
