Person Dragged By Car 17 Miles In NYC

(AP)  Police say a person was hit by a car, then swept under a van and dragged nearly 17 miles through New York City before that driver realized it.

The badly damaged body has not been identified. Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says investigators are tracing the route searching for body parts.

The first driver notified police after hitting the person around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

In the meantime, the second driver went over the victim. It's not clear if the person was alive at that point.

The van drove on drove on three New York City highways from Queens to Brooklyn before stopping to check the vehicle. But he didn't see the body until a pedestrian pointed it out.

Police say no criminality is suspected.

For Questionnews.... I''m also sure that if you were a driver that hit a person and dragged them 17 miles, at least YOU would know it, beings WE are in the wrong(your opinion) for being simple and to the point. And you say WE have nothing better to do??? So get off our backs here for having an opinion or comment. This is just like a newspaper clip you''d see on the "dumbest criminals" log.....Helloooo, how could you NOT know somebody is under your vehicle!!! Bet that was a cheap cab fare tho...hehe!

Let me play the role of the offended poster:
You people, ("You people" always get folks riled up) are disgusting!! A person died! You''re just stomping on the feelings of the family!! (Always pull at heart strings by bring up the dead person''s family) Don''t you have anything better than to sit around & post cruel jokes about this tragic event!! (Always imply that people who joke about the weird ways some people meet their demise have no life.) If this person was one of your relatives, you would not be making jokes!! (Well, not until the funeral at least)
You people should be ashamed of yourselves. (That one always reminds me of Mom.)
There, now we don''t need to have our hands slapped by the, not yet here, but soon to come moralist poster.
