Aniston Tries On Her Director's Cap
(CBS)
Some might think Jennifer Aniston, who's experienced a public breakup with ex-husband Brad Pitt and dealt with the aftermath of "Brangelina," would be leery of taking on a movie called "He's Just Not That Into You."
That wasn't the case at all for Aniston, who isn't ashamed to be a 30-something trying to figure out the dating scene -- like the premise of the film.
Aniston has been romantically linked to musician John Mayer.
Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen sat down with Aniston to discuss the movie and her new piursuit -- directing!
In "He's Just Not That Into You," Aniston plays a woman longing to walk down the aisle, but her longtime boyfriend isn't the marrying kind.
"Have you ever told a friend 'He's just not that into you?'" Chen asked.
"No, I don't think I have. I think it's pretty clear that he is or isn't. I have had people say, 'Honey, I think he's gay," Aniston admitted.
Aniston isn't married, but some might say her recent "GQ" cover would help make her a candidate for the most eligible woman! She posed for the cover in her "birthday suit," wearing only a striped tie.
The beautiful actress is looking to make a name for herself by carving out a career on the other side of the camera.
"Are you interested in directing?" Chen asked.
"I am interested in directing. I directed a short a few moments ago with 'Glamour.' I really enjoyed the process. The editing room was one of my favorite parts of it. Pull it all apart and put it back together again," she said.
"After you directed the short, did you bring something else to the project, because you were in the shoes of the director?" Chen asked.
"I'm always a little bossy," Aniston admitted.
"He's Just Not That Into You" arrives in theaters in time for Valentine's Day.
"It may force women to take charge and ask their men out. It seems like a great date film," Chen said. "What makes a great date?"
"Simple. Go to a great restaurant have a great conversation. Walk on a beach if there is one to be walked on," Aniston said.
Who knows? Maybe a walk on the beach could turn into a walk down the aisle.
