Obama Vs. Rush: Coulter Weighs In

By
CBSNews
(CBS)  At first, it might appear conservative firebrand Ann Coulter is at odds with fellow arch-conservative Rush Limbaugh in the talk show host's verbal sparring with President Obama.

Limbaugh has said he hopes Mr. Obama will fail in his presidency, and Mr. Obama told congressional leaders at the White House Friday, "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done."

After a glib comment by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, Limbaugh suggested Mr. Obama is more frightened of Limbaugh than he is of Republican leaders which, Limbaugh added, "doesn't say much about our party."

On The Early Show Thursday, Coulter said she actually hopes the president succeeds -- "but that means he'll govern as a conservative."

Coulter also said she probably wouldn't make a good politician or like being one, because of all the compromising involved; there's "no way" Mr. Obama's economic stimulus plan can succeed; and the GOP is now free to roam to the right. "We just ran John McCain," she said. "We are so sick of being in the middle!"

Harry brought on Joseph Goebbels'' (spiritual) granddaughter, Ann Coulter. Harry and his 2 ignorant sidekicks were unable to stand up to Coulter, when she said the Obama bailout is a sure failure. None of them know 1993, when the Republicans predicted doomsday. Doomsday with the creation of 22 million new jobs!

The Rush comment on Obama failing was a qualifier that had a proviso of his stimulus plan not really succeeding because it wouldn''t actually stimulate the economy. It''s a bit ironic that Obama is so caught up with his going out of his way to condemn Rush and even caution other Republicans not to listen to him. This doesn''t say much about Obama''s level of political maturity. If Obama can''t take criticism, regardless of who it''s originating from, then perhaps he should resign now and do everyone else a favor, especially himself. Mr. Obama is apparently made up of brittle veneer.

We''ve seen just how much power the conservative commentators have over the elected republicans. The "base" almost entirely takes the position they are instructed by their commentators (and sometimes religious leaders), the republican elected officials are alomst forced to comply if they want to get elected and stay elected.
It makes as much sense as anything to debate the republican power at it''s policy source, and that includes Limbaugh.
He may be the most influential republican in the world, so why ingore someone like Limbaugh when you want to talk about republican policy???? I think Obama has to confront him.

Is this the liberal mindset? What you can''''t overcome, debate with, do you then resort to violence?
