At the invitation of Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., Mr. Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will pay a protocol visit to the Supreme Court of the United States Wednesday afternoon, the office says.
This will mark the third time in recent history a president-elect and vice resident-elect have visited the court. The last such visit was made by Bill Clinton and Al Gore on Dec. 8, 1992.
On Nov. 19, 1980, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush made the same visit.
Mr. Obama and Biden will visit with the justices in the ceremonial West Conference Room.
The visit is private; reporters and photographers will not be present.

There is a small contingency of Americans that get their only "news" from talk-radio. You can recognize them because they talk "bumper-sticker" English. No thought, no balance, no nuttin'', except the desire to be nasty in the fewest possible words. When I get curious about where some of this nonsense is coming from, all I have to do is tune in Rush and there it is. Stupidity served hot and fast. Talk radio is the fast food of journalism, not really food. :o) - Reply to this comment
- Seventy years ago there was another very charismatic leader who charmed his countrymen into accepting government control. That lead to 6million people being slaughtered and a government controlled police force that had a zero tolerance policy towards any opposition. The bad part about it%u2026the citizens of that country didn%u2019t realize what was happening until it was too late.

Take Bush for instance -- his ineptitude is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans and tens of thousands of Iraqi non-combatants. - Reply to this comment

So says s091750 in very broken, barely intelligible English. How are we supposed to take you nutty conspiracy theories seriously when you can barely communicate in the English language? - Reply to this comment

- kansas1946, does it say they weren''t invited?
Read carefully. Ever consider they were invited but said no thanks? - Reply to this comment
- That''s odd. Ok, Reagan and Bush were invited, Clinton and Gore were invited, and now Obama and Biden are invited. Why weren''t Bush and Cheney invited? That seems odd.

- The largest task ahead is the unrigging of the judicial branch from Bush''s illegal attorney and judge selection tactics. I hope Obama can undo this mess. This is a real priority. We must be able to count on the judicial system''s check and balances. They judicial system has become poltically rigged so that its nothing more than an extension of the defunct legislative branch that has a less than 20% approval rating.
