(CBS/AP)  A former judge who unsuccessfully sued his dry cleaners for $54 million over a lost pair of pants isn't giving up.

Roy Pearson has filed a petition with the D.C. Court of Appeals, requesting the case be reheard - this time by a nine-judge panel.

Pearson claimed Custom Cleaners failed to live up to its promise of "Satisfaction Guaranteed."

Three appellate judges agreed last month that Pearson failed to show the store's advertising amounted to fraud and said his argument defied logic.

In asking for a hearing before the entire court, Pearson, a former District administrative law judge argues the three-judge panel failed to address all the issues in his appeal.

Pearson also argued that he was denied access to having his case heard by a jury, reported the Washington Post.

Pearson did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment Tuesday. Phone calls to his home went unanswered.

How did he ever get to be a ''Judge'', It''s obvious he doesn''t have the intelligence required (or the common sense).

Roy L. Pearson stars as Judge Kook in the new daytime reality show ''Dude, Where Are My Pants?''

The lucky contestant who solves this mystery stands to win a date with the Judge.

Now who can pass that up?

His appointment was not renewed when all the publicity first came out surrounding this ridiculous lawsuit. If I recall correctly, it was last year sometime. The guy obviously has become obsessed over the thing and just won''t drop it, even though the cleaners have tried repeatedly to "please" him, above and beyond what I would call reasonable. Idiot.

Perhaps all the judicial decisions he has made in the past should be reviewed - I don''t think his elevator goes all the way to the to floor.

This whacko doesn''''t need those pants. What he needs is one of those special white suits where the sleeves are tied together behind his back, in a rubber room.

Actually the sleeves are stitched together in front of the torso but your point is well taken. This is just another shining example of how F***ed up our legal system is, not to mention how an idiot like this guy ever became judge.

This guy has a very valid point!

When we are deceived by people who make their living supposedly doing services for us, we expect what we are promised.

It is not about the fact that the item was "just" a pair of pants. It is about a promise made and broken.

Saisfaction guaranteed is one of those advertising catch phrases that could never be true, but, if stated, we have a right to believe.

We need people to start standing up and saying " If you can''t deliver it, don''t say it." That''s all this man is trying to say.

Thank heavens we still have people who will stand up for what they believe, even in the face of all the abuse.

Hope he gets some laws changed at the very least.

Ridiculous yes -- however, I applaude the guy. How many of us every single day are annoyed, inconvenienced or just plain angry over advertising claims? Anyone every buy anything that is only advertised on television by Billy Mays and discovered it doesn''t work as advertised. What about your insurance --- has any of them ever put you back to where you were immediately and with absolutely no inconvenience to you a victim? What about those "low price" guarantees that aren''t, stores charging restocking fees for a returned item that wasn''t even unboxed or things like food items that look completely different from the photograph. Please, when was the last time any of you actually bought a Big Mac that looked like the picture of the Big Mac?

I think this guy has a valid point --- if you advertise something and cannot deliver, do something that will shut you down. All of them from the big three in Detroit who have been selling *** cars for years to the little guy who claims "100% customer satisfaction" then screws up. They certainly don''t negotiate taking our money or holding their customers ransome when they can. Why should we give businesses all the opportunity in the world to lie and deceive us?

Yes, this guy (to be nice) is out of his mind.
Due to his idiocy, in order to pay for the legal costs to fight this guy, he has already forced the owners of the dry cleaning business not only out of business, but they have returned home to Korea.
That being said, his continuing this "fight" is totally out there. He has lost his job, I beleive he has been disbarred, he has forced the couple out of buisness and out of the country, so why is he continuing? he cant get any money or anything else other that being thought of a laughing stock and becoming the poster boy for ambulance chasers.

I work in retail and i''''m appuled that someone is so highstrung about pants. I would like to see the couple sue him for deffamation of charater. The S.O.B. deseves it. By the way what is sooooo good about a pair of "magic" pants anyway?

It was the "magic dust" that he had in them.

I agree I think the cleaners ought to sue HIM for deffamation and harassment.
