Movies In '09: A Big Year For Sequels

Fan favorites will be back on the big screen in 2009, which will also see the return of the wonders of 3-D animation.
Entertainment reporter Michael Hundgen gave Early Show co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez the cinematic rundown for 2009.
Harry Potter is back in action.
"This is the most anticipated movie for women in 2009. Harry is back in Voldemort -- he who shall not be named. He's back in action and he's kind of taking on the Muggle world this year in the film. This movie really sets up for the seventh version of the Harry Potter movie, which is going to be split into two movies. So, very anticipated. It was supposed to come out this year, but it was pushed until next year, this summer, in July," he said.
Hundgen pointed out that although fans of all ages are looking forward to the latest Harry Potter film, women will be especially attentive as the characters are becoming more mature.
"I think that adults and kids have loved the Harry Potter franchise and this movie specifically. It's been long anticipated. The graphics are amazing and the boys are growing up and Hermione is as well. It will be fun to watch," he said.
Star Trek fans, otherwise known as "trekies" will be thrilled with the release of "Star Trek."
"This is long in the making. A $150 million budget, but Paramount put J.J. Abrams on the job -- he's the guy behind "Mission Impossible 3" and "Lost," Hundgen said. "It's going to be a mega-film. They are really trying to re-brand the franchise and J.J. Abrams was not a trekie guy to begin with, so they are trying to kind of bring this to everybody and not just the die-hard fans."
"Night at the Museum 2," "X-Men," and "Terminator 4" will also be returning to the big screen.
"It's non-stop next year," he said.
Once again 2009 is going to be about teen power.
"Zac Efron is making a new movie this year, '17 Again.' It will be interesting to watch because he has to break out of that 'High School Musical' franchise. It's more of a comedic role. He is really headlining the movie this time. Not only is Zac there, but we have Miley Cyrus, she's going to be in 'Hannah Montana' and The Jonas Brothers have their own movie coming out. I already have my tickets, so we're set," Hundgen admitted.
Disney-Pixar is coming out with "Up," in 3-D, which is expected to warm hearts.
"Three-D is back this year and it's bigger than ever. And all of the movie studios - Dreamworks and FOX are all behind this. They are really trying to get more bang out of their buck for this. It costs a little bit more to make, but they can charge a little bit more money. So, monsters and aliens for Dreamworks and 'Ice Age 3' for FOX."
Two favorite leading ladies are back - Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts.
Bullock teams up with Ryan Reynolds in the romantic comedy, "The Proposal."
Julia Roberts will be in "Duplicity;" with Clive Owen.
"This is almost her 'Ocean's Eleven.' In this movie she plays a spy and they are both business spies. It's very fun. It will be a great movie," he said.
"He's Just Not That Into You," will also have women flocking to the theaters.
"This is the women's bible when this book came out. It's highly anticipated. It's huge, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Long, Drew Barrymore, Jen Connelly -- they are all in this movie. It's going to be huge. It's coming out in February," he said.
