(AP)  Pakistan said Tuesday that India had moved troops toward their shared border, following Islamabad's own redeployment of forces toward the frontier amid tensions over the Mumbai attacks.

Indian officials would not comment on the claim, but denied another allegation that they had activated forward air bases.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi made the claims in a televised address that included overtures toward India to help improve the frayed ties between the nuclear-armed neighbors, who have already fought three wars in the past six decades.

"I understand India has activated their forward air bases, and I think if they are deactivated, then it will be a big positive signal," Qureshi said. "Similarly, as far as their ground forces are concerned and which have been deputed and deployed, if they relocated to their peacetime positions, then it will also be a positive signal."

Qureshi further offered to send a high-level delegation to New Delhi to help investigate the November assault in Mumbai, which killed 164 people.

The foreign minister, who was among several Pakistani leaders who have been calling for calm in the region, reiterated that India had not turned over any evidence backing up its claims that Pakistani militants had staged the Mumbai assault.

However, he noted that Indian officials had said that was because their own investigation was not over.

"And the government of Pakistan wants to assure them that when the evidence will come to us, our thinking from day one was constructive and peaceful and we will do our best to reach the bottom of the matter," Qureshi said.

An Indian military official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to reporters, denied that key air bases had been activated. "We have not activated any of our forward air bases," he said.

There was no immediate comment by India's defense ministry on the statement that the South Asian giant had moved some troops to forward positions.

Intelligence officials said last week that Pakistan is shifting thousands of troops away from its militant-infested northwest regions bordering Afghanistan and toward India. Witnesses in towns along the Indian border have reported seeing more troops than usual, but there have been no signs of a massive buildup on the Pakistani side.

Hoping that creating a heaven for terrorists would give it some legitimacy they welcomed all the disaffected, uneducated, morons from all the Islamic countries, and that is Pakistan''''s claim to fame!

You are probably too young to know that it was your India that started this by training the rebels in East Pakistan to fight Pakistan army in 1970 that caused the breakup of Pakistan in 1971. The rebels formed the group "Mukti Bahini" and their training camps was formed in Calcutta.

India existed long before Pakistan was invented

Considering that the word "India" was coined by the British and the word "Hindustan" was invented by Persians, how can you say that country existed but had no name?

The difference between the madman and I is that the madman believes himself sane, whereas I know that I am not.

Once one realizes that Bush is the moral
bottom of the barrel Pakistani troops
heading to India''s border to take
attention off Isriel isn''t
that hard to believe.

And if when this "legalized" murder is
over Fatah waltzes into Gaza,,,
belief will become

The Israelis seem to have had a significant hand in stirring up tensions between Pakistan and India.

I wonder if they will fall for it?

If they do, it''s a safe bet that they will both lose, while the Israelis get away unscathed.

Once, America a strong and trusted nation would have interceded to create some form of balance in diplomacy. But that was before George W. Bush Jr. Oh, he''s on vacation again. And I still find people inspired by Dubya the Dork.

India existed long before Pakistan was invented and will continue to exist long after Pakistan becomes a fading memory. Pakistan has been meandering through the Islamic world begging for respect from the Arabic countries who treat Pakistanis like dirt. Hoping that creating a heaven for terrorists would give it some legitimacy they welcomed all the disaffected, uneducated, morons from all the Islamic countries, and that is Pakistan''s claim to fame!

Who is raising tensions between India and Pakistan? Pakistan itself. As an example, signing defense equipment agreements with China. If Pakistan is so peace loving, honest and without it''s war hysteria, then what is the need to sign the defense deals with china at this sensitive time?

Now let the world understand it was Pakistan who mobilized their army to the boarder first. Now India has responded in defense Pakistan now paints India as the aggressor. Sweet Mohammedanism logic. The worlds first terrorist would be proud.

I always thought it would be America that would destroy the world with nukes. Maybe I was wrong--maybe India and Pakistan will do the dirty work.

Nuclear war would certainly make for an interesting new year. You thought the economy was bad? Things really could be worse.

On the other hand, all those jobs they exported to Asia will be available here again...

Amazing how Karma works.
Islam is doing to Pakistan what India would not do.
I see Moslems glow every time there is a terrorist act in India.
They only seem to understand and respect violence.
They cannot fight like Men but terrorize defenseless civilians.
As crippled as Pakistan is, even a rabid dog can bite and infect.
Pakistan has enjoyed doing this for the last 60 years.
According to my Pakistani friend, no *** wants to return to that hellhole.
Pakistani hatred towards India has made them unable to think logically.
The ISI trained, equipped and sent terrorists to Mumbai.
Indian people got angry and revolted against corrupt Indian politicians.
The politicians became scared for their jobs and talking tough.
What a stroke of genius!
The Pakistanis moved their **** poor army to the Indian border.
The Taliban then got free hand to move further into Pakistan.
Reacting to Pakistani moves India moved its troops to the Pakistan.
Now the Pakistani politicians and military are scared shxtless.
There seems no limit to Pakistani lack of intelligence.
Just like the Nazi Party, Taliban is terrorism at the critical mass.
Now Pakistan will self-destruct soon be renamed Talibanistan
No surprise that Pakistanis are scared and do not know what is the enemy.
They have bred monsters amongst themselves.
I am certain that the next move by Pakistan will be even more stupid!
Philosophy from a syphilitic mind cannot be undone.
This is just the beginning!

As a matter of fact Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and Syria they all have gone out of our control. Now whether we swallow that bitter pill or not; it''s not their problem. I can see that in the future, Iran and China will enslave the South Asia with India looking at the international forces to do something. How pathetic will it be and ho sad it will be!

Pakistan is a very clever and cunning nation. You can see that they always prick needles in our eyes and at the end of the day, we say that they are our friends/allies. You will see very soon that again India will be trading with Pakistan and making friendly relations. I wanted that Indian government should have taken some stern action against Pakistan.
Pakistanis always take our A*S*S and then say, "We are your friends. Lets progress together".
As if terrorism is a joke. Jai Shri Krishna.

May be you dreamt that last night!
But Pakistan is not Pelesine, Afghanistan or Iraq. That''s why India feels threatened.
Above everything, Pakistan is China''s second home. Is that possible that the U.S declares China as a terrorist sponsor and fight an easy war with China?
Pakistanis are crazy. In case of any war, waged by any country upon them, they will blindly throw nukes on India, converting them into ashes. India will also not sit back silently. So as a result India as well as Pakistan both will fade. Then left China, the biggest threat to the progress of U.S and to the U.S interests! GOD save our A*S*S from the agression of Pakistan.

It''s about time the Indian nation stood up to their lawless terror sponsoring neighbor. The way of life in the part of world east of Turkey, south of Russia and west of India is dispicable. I wonder what the response of the international community will be to a pakistani nuclear strike?

From the above article, ''Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi made the claims in a televised address that included overtures toward India to help improve the frayed ties between the nuclear-armed neighbors, who have already fought three wars in the past six decades.''

Just so I understand Pakistan''s objections to India''s response here. Pakistani or Islamist militants from Pakistan attack Mumbai, Pakistan responded last week by moving thousands of their military personel away from its border with Afghanistan to the border with India. Now India moves military personel to the same border area with Pakistan and Pakistan doesn''t appreciate that India wants to protect its border?

Seems a little backward to me, but then I am just a casual observer.

What a surprise Pakistan! Pakistan moves its troops near the boarder ans then is surprised when India follows suite? Pakistan''s military movements haven''t made any sense in the last 6 years.
