Dynamite Found In Paris Department Store

A group demanding that France withdraw its troops from Afghanistan claimed it planted dynamite found Tuesday at a major Paris department store, officials said.

Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie said sticks of "relatively old" dynamite tied together but without a detonator were found in the Printemps department store.

The store was immediately evacuated, reported CBS News correspondent Elaine Cobbe, and anti-crime brigades and demining teams were called in.

Police said the explosives were found in the third floor restroom of the menswear department. Police and judicial officials said five sticks of explosives were found together.

French news agency Agence France-Presse said it received a letter from a group calling itself the Afghan Revolutionary Front saying that several bombs had been planted in the store.

Printemps is one of the main department stores in Paris and would have been packed with holiday shoppers, Cobbe reported.

Alliot-Marie said the group was "totally unknown" to police but that the claim was being studied.

In the letter, the group demanded the withdrawal of French troops from Afghanistan before the end of February, and threatened attacks if France refuses, said a judicial official informed on the contents of the letter.

Officers cordoned off streets around the building. Anti-crime brigades and bomb squads were called in.

Further details were not immediately available. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss details of the case publicly.

If the Muslims don''t stop their own or we don''t stop them now, we will be fighting a world war in 10 or 20 years. Perhaps this should be rephrased. Our children and grandchildren will be fighting a world war.

This is probably an offshoot and PR event for more attention to what is happening in Greece.
Europe is currently controlled by hot headed macho males of all ages, the black clothed radicals. Greece being the current prime example for the kind of generation whose parents raised them to believe that they can have whatever they please-- no work or responsibility needed. Funding themselves with drugs and prostitution, it is not uncommon for even 15 year olds to pimp and prostitute.

Muslims have terrorists in their midst, claiming they fight for terrorist - so do Christians. We''re fortunate enough to have somewhat fewer now (Serbia being a notable exception - as well as some African countries) - but we had our day with the Inquisition, the Crusades, and so many other evils. Only if you blame all Christians, suspect all Christians for those acts, can you blame all Muslims for what those few terrorists do. Or you could do what you''d hope for yourself - judge each individual as an individual.

To make a generalization that all Muslims are terrorists is silly. Why don''t you open a book and educate yourself? Muslims in the U.S. are doctors, lawyers, business people etc...and come from all walks of life. The contribution of Muslims to American society cannot and should not be taken for granted.
