Kate Walsh's Husband Files For Divorce

"Private Practice" star Kate Walsh is getting divorced after a year of marriage.

The actress' husband, Alex M. Young, filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Tuesday. His petition cites "irreconcilable differences" but offers no further details.

The pair married September 2007, and the documents say they separated Nov. 22.

The couple have no children together.

The 41-year-old actress is the star of the "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off "Private Practice" on ABC. Young is a top-ranking executive at 20th Century Fox.

The pair released a joint statement through the publicists saying the split was amicable and that Walsh and Young remain friends.

The breakup was first reported on a Web site for "The Insider" TV show.


Springsteen Memorabilia Returned To N.J. Library

The Boss' stuff is back.

More than 1,100 pieces of Bruce Springsteen memorabilia have been returned to the Asbury Park Public Library in New Jersey after library officials filed a police complaint against the men who had taken out the items.

Members of the Friends of the Bruce Springsteen Special Collection took hundreds of books, articles and tour programs to be microfilmed in 2007.

The group says they, not the library, own the stuff. The library disagrees.

But the Friends group returned the materials after the police complaint was filed Tuesday against two members.

Library officials say the charges won't be pursued as long as the memorabilia is in good shape.


Hollywood Brings Glitz And Glamour To Inaugural Ball

Roll out the red carpet! Paparazzi, ready your cameras! Hollywood and rock stars are bringing their own razzle-dazzle to President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration.

Anne Hathaway, Susan Sarandon, Marcia Cross, Tim Robbins, Seal, Adrian Grenier, Ashley Judd, Jane Krakowski, Rachael Leigh Cook, Blair Underwood and directors Spike Lee and Ron Howard are confirmed. And that's just a partial list of the hosts for an unofficial inaugural ball.

Elvis Costello is the headliner and rock stars Sting and Sam Moore will also appear, according to The Creative Coalition. The ball is a fundraising event for the nonprofit arts and entertainment advocacy group.

The event will kick off in Washington's Harman Center for the Arts the night of Jan. 20, when Obama is sworn in as the nation's 44th president. Musical guests are scheduled to perform until midnight.

Former Vice President Al Gore will also be the honorary chair of the 2009 Green Inaugural Ball on Jan. 19 at the National Portrait Gallery. About two dozen environmental organizations are on the event's host committee.


Italian Rockers Take Their Music To The Extreme

The singer in a teen gothic metal band and her brother allegedly stabbed the band's guitarist dozens of times because he did not play well enough, Italian police and a lawyer said Friday.

Police in Genoa, on Italy's northwestern coast, said the 16-year-old victim remained hospitalized but his life was not in danger.

He was attacked Saturday night after the band "Soul Cry" rehearsed in Sestri Ponente, a small town near Genoa. He was stabbed about 50 times, mainly to his back and head, said police official Alessandra Bucci in Genoa.

The 18-year-old singer, Cristina Balzano, and her 16-year-old brother, the band's bass player, were arrested on charges of premeditated attempted murder.

During the rehearsal, band members accused the victim of playing poorly, police said. The attack occurred moments later in a narrow alley.


English Town Pays Tribute To Stones Songs

If so, Dartford is the place to go. Streets there are being named after classic Rolling Stones hits in honor of local heroes Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

The ties to the town just east of London are strong: Jagger was born there and attended elementary school there, meeting Richards when both were schoolboys.

According to local legend, the two later met at the Dartford train station and talked about forming a band that went on to become the world-conquering Stones.

"That's the open legend," said Oakley Hartney, spokeswoman for the Dartford Council, which approved the street names Thursday night.

She said the decision reflects tremendous pride in the town's connection to the Stones, one of the longest running and most successful rock bands in the world.
