(AP)  Two Iraq war veterans allege in a federal lawsuit they were forced by smalltown Wisconsin police officers to lap up what was believed to be urine.

Wisconsin National Guardsmen Anthony Anderson and Robert Schiman filed the suit against the city of Wisconsin Dells, its police chief and three officers last week in U.S. District Court in Madison.

The guardsmen, both of whom have served two tours of duty in Iraq, were in the Dells for weekend training. Two police officers stopped them in the early morning of June 1.

The suit says officers Wayne Thomas and Collin Jacobson accused the guardsmen of urinating in public and pointed out a wet spot in an alley that they thought was urine. The guardsmen denied having relieved themselves there.

In order to prove that it was not their urine and avoid citations, the officers made Anderson and Schiman lick the ground, the lawsuit claims. Schiman also was made to eat a plant that was drenched in the liquid, it states.

The lawsuit claims a third officer arrived at the scene and was told by Jacobson, "I can't stop laughing. Wayne just made those two guys lick their own piss off the ground."

After both Anderson and Schiman licked the wet ground, Anderson was forced to do it again after one of the officers claimed he didn't see it, the suit claims.

The lawsuit states that Thomas, 19, was fired the same day as the incident and Jacobson, 20, was suspended for two weeks without pay. Both were limited term police officers.

The lawsuit seeks $600,000 in compensatory and punitive damages for each of the guardsmen, along with other unspecified damages and costs.

The suit alleges infliction of emotional distress; negligent hiring, training and supervision of Thomas and Jacobson; false imprisonment and violation of the Constitutional and civil rights of Anderson and Schiman.

Thomas' and Jacobson's attorney, Jason Baltz, and City Attorney James Gerlach did not immediately return calls Wednesday seeking comment.

I guess these troops get a "taste" of their own medicine, getting an ideal of what it''''s like for "Eye-Rackis" to be humiliated and debased by our "brave" troops in "Eye-Rack".

Sounds like these cops, if you can call them that, took their pentup anger out on two national guardsmen. I say their superiors should be held accountable as well for hiring unqualified/mentally deranged personnel to strap on guns and walk the streets.

Protocol would have been to arrest the two on public disorderly conduct, kept their mouths shut and made no comments, and let the guardsmen negotiate with the DA as to whether the charges were bonafide. No, they abused their power, and became all powerful, and tried convicted and awarded punishment. SEND them to the nearest PRISON so they can get a taste of their own medicine.

Respect is earned. It is not mandatory because you pin on a shiny badge, wear a black robe, or fight in a war.

Typical actions of today''s law enforcement. Cops think they can do what ever they want and won''t face repercussions for their actions which is usually true. Both cops should be tried for abuse of power or any other law that may apply and sent to jail to spend some intimate time with some real cop lovers. Members of law enforcement are no longer worthy of anyone%u2019s admiration, at least not mine. I''m amazed that any action was taken against these cops. Usually they get off with no punative action. I%u2019m sure there are good cops out there but it seems lately all you read about are the bad ones. Maybe the bad ones are in the majority.

I live in the Dells and posted about this at my blog before it hit the papers. This is no suprise. Each summer they hire extra officers for the tourist season.

If you google the officer Scott Albrecht and read about a local reporter going on a "Ride Along" with him and how the story ended up watered down you will see what I mean.

Both of the young cops should have been fired and Albrecht recieve the suspension if not fired too.
We have a few good officers but the rest rely on threats and intimidation.

There is no Phil Donahue Show to Showcase these criminals, main stem media is busy with Lyndey Lohan,
so this continues to happen everyday. And like (LmartinK) said, Criminals run Amouk.
Criminalized police departments contribute to crime by committing crimes themselves, and by creating distrust of police throughout communities.
Citizen simply will not come forward with infor formation they think they might have, because they are Fearful and distrust police. So crimes go unsolved forever!
