Intern Goes On Rampage After Firing

After Dismissal From TV Station, College Student Threatens Boss, Kicks In Window

  • Interactive Crime Beat

Statistics and specifics on crime in America.

(CBS)  A Minnesota college student allegedly went on an obscenity-laced rampage at a local television station after being fired as an intern, court charges say.

According to the Star Tribune in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Jennifer Nicole Anato-Mensah, a 21-year-old University of Minnesota student, is accused of chasing after an executive producer at KSTP-TV who had just fired her, damaging company property along the way.

Anato-Mensah made threats and shouted obscenities at executive producer Danielle Prenevost after the firing, telling her "You don't know where I'm from, I'll mess you up," according to a criminal complaint.

The newly-fired intern also allegedly kicked in a conference room window in an attempt to reach Prenevost during the Oct. 13 incident before being restrained by a male employee, the complaint said.

Anato-Mensah faces misdemeanor criminal damage to property charges and is scheduled to make a Dec. 30 court appearance.

Worse than that: it is the typical young American (and increasingly Canadian copy-cat and Mexican upper class rich kid) attitude. Parents do nothing, society does nothing, all just shop and consume and worry about their ridiculous, self-righteous status quo.

Time to post her name and photo on the Internet. That should be enough to take care of this problem.

A good, swift kick to the head would have put an end to this. Or perhaps the station should invest in a Taser.

When individuals are not raised properly and raised to expect everything given to them without any personal responsibility and accountability, this is what happens. It does all go back to the parents and their laxity and indifference in doing their jobs correctly.

She has nothing to worry about. CBS will hire her to take Katie''s place in the near future. Only liberals have such emotional outbursts and she would fit well at CBS TV.

Pretty weak argument; maybe you could use some Viagra.

Sean Hannity and Bill O'' regularly loose it, on national TV.

I totally agree with you. I see it all the time, they just want to collect the paycheck and missed the part where you have to actually EARN IT. I realize interns don''t usually make money, but it could have led to a lucrative position and going ballistic on the boss is not in anyone''s best interest.

Although I definitely do not condone her actions and I think she should have acted with more dignity, I would reserve judgement until all of the facts are known. I have seen some very badly handled firings in the past. I have seen poeple sneered at and mocked. With many young and inexperienced manager types in the workplace it is not surprising. There is a skill to termingating people while at the same time allowing them to save face and leave with grace.

What a racist post. First of all you don''t know what her ethnicity is. Honestly I doubt she was black because you don''t find too many Blacks in Minnesota with a last name Anato-Mensah.

You shouldn''t wear your racism on your sleeve. It can be harmful to your health in certain areas.

Lucky that she wasn''t carrying a concealed weapon, or the damage would have been much worse than a broken window and some shocked coworkers. I wonder if the gun nutz will ever understand that people DO get angry, depressed, suicidal, enraged, etc., and that guns DO NOT improve the situation?

To IDNNSG:

Gun are an inanimate object. They can hurt no one.

Why would I want to take a gun out of my hands with nuts like this running around?

In societies where guns are prevalent ... there is a high degree of gun violence. US. We are stupid for our guns.

In societies where knives / swords are prevalant ... there is a higher degree of knife violence. Euro''s are nuts for knives!! Read the Euro newspapers. Knife violence is outrageous.

In societies where killing one-self is the proper way of handling anger and shame ..... suicide is the way out. Japan has a suicide rate that is beyond belief.

In China and India they kill each other .... especially female children .... very quietly. So many people simply vanish in Chia and India it is disturbing.

Remember violence is a cultural thing. Everyone kills each other in a different way. But we are all violent.

Gun are an inanimate object. They can hurt no one.

I can''t believe some of the things being said here. None of you were in the room during the firing or have knowledge of what kind of relationship she had with or supervisor, or what the working conditions were. I don''t agree with how she responded, but we don''t have all the facts. How can anyone be sure of what race she was I don''t see where it was mention in the article. With regard to how she was rasied, please speak on something you know, and not what you ***-ume. Please get a grip.

badbrown said "Gun are an inanimate object. They can hurt no one."

But they are used a lot to hurt a ton of people. We have 30,000 gun-related deaths per year + 100,000 people suffering non-lethal gunshot wounds 1.7 million gun-related crimes=Gun Violence.

Then he said "Why would I want to take a gun out of my hands with nuts like this running around?"

You mean...errrrrr...you feel you need your guns to protect yourself from nuts like this unarmed, young woman? I won''t date her but I don''t need a gun to protect myself from her.

(badbrown) Bring me my gun honey. There''s a guy outside with a bottle with some white stuff in it. It could be antrax.

(badbrown wife) That''s the milkman you moron!~ I have to go to the post office. They won''t deliver the mail here no more. You shot at the mailman yesterday.

Nice posts. One other relevant story. Apparently the FBI agent killed yesterday was shot by the wife of the guy they were looking for. She had two kids in the house and thought she was shooting an intruder. Admittedly hubby was a coke dealer, so she probably had reason to think that shooting was safer than figuring out who it was first - but in the long run - another tragic situation aided and abetted by a gun. Any other sort of weapon she''d have be close enough to figure out who the "intruder" was.

Thank you, badbrown126. That is an excellent point. It''s a shame that ANY story on this site, if it involves any violence, with or without a gun involved, it will eventually lead to a big argument for or against gun control.

In Nebraska there are more people killed by trains or auto''s then there are by guns.. Let''s outlaw trains and cars.. but none of you anti gun nuts are saying outlaw trains..

GUNS DON''T KILL PEOPLE.. PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE... If you don''t believe me then go buy a gun.. place it on the kitchen table and sit there until that gun kills someone.. with out touching it.. (that will stop a lot of junk post.. the anti gun nut jobs will all be sitting around a kitchen table for the rest of their miserable lives..

Gun owner paranoia!~ In most cases citizens defending themselves with firearms do so against unarmed criminals. That''s a fact. In this case we know the "nut" was an unarmed, young woman. Still he said he felt the need to have a gun for a nut like her. How brave!~
