Second Cup Cafe: Joan Osborne

(CBS)  Singer/songwriter Joan Osborne, known for her hit single, "One of Us," has a God-given talent - her voice.

With her singles "Hallelujah in the City" and "Bury Me on the Battery," she brings that familiar soulfulness back with an urban touch, reminding us that faith can intertwine with the raw reality of the world.

Osborne stopped by The Early Show's "Second Cup Café" Saturday to perform songs from her latest CD, "Little Wild One," which she recently released on her own Womanly Hips label in partnership with Plum Records.

After a 15-year career that kicked off with a breakthrough debut album, "Relish," which sold 5 million copies worldwide and featured her hit song "One Of Us" and netted six Grammy nominations, Osborne is back at it again.

In 2002, she proved the caliber of her voice as a soul singer with an acclaimed documentary film called "Standing in the Shadows of Motown," followed by a tour with legendary Motown backing band The Funk Brothers.

The next year, Osborne toured with the vivacious Dixie Chicks.

She went on to wow audiences by touring throughout the U.S. for two years as the lead singer for the Dead.

In 2007, she took the stage of the Grand Ole Opry - an impressive venue for any artist.
