Police officer Jason Lee says marchers were mostly peaceful in the protest against Proposition 8 that began Wednesday in West Hollywood and continued into Thursday morning.
But four people were taken into custody at the intersection of Hollywood and Highland when they tried to cross a line of officers.
Television cameras showed one of the protesters jumping on top of a police car. He was quickly wrestled to the ground by police.
Sheriff's Sgt. Kristin Aloma says two people were arrested in West Hollywood for disturbing the peace, and another was arrested for public drunkenness.
She says one deputy had minor injuries when he was hit by a car as he prepared to close an intersection before protesters arrived.
- I find the comments made on here absolutely comical. First, in response to the last comment made, it shows how blind you are. You say that it doesnt add up that mormons had multiple wives back in the day. You are someone who is whining about equality, but I bet you wouldnt agree with giving polygamists the right to marry multiple wives. Where are their rights you selfish "bigots". If you are allowed the right, then so are they. You would be foolish to think otherwise and would be blatantly on the opposite side than you are on with the gay marriage argument. Dont be stupid. But they just love more than one woman! Its love! Why cant you just let them love who they want to love?! You are all a bunch of hypocrites who dont even know what you stand for. If you want equal rights, then give them to all. But to say a polygamist or a bisexual person cant marry more than one person is fully and completely hypocritical! And as far as South Africa is concerned... please move! You will be so much happier now that it is accepted there. Its not changing here. The courts will not overturn it again, so leave! Go to another country and leave the US alone. You have no substance to your fight at all. Prove it with facts, not emotion!

- The Bible will never replace the Constitution. The Ten Commandments will never replace the Bill of Rights. This is why we have the separation of Church and States. If the Religious Right is successful in destroying these two sacred documents, then we will not have to worry about Al-Qaeda or another 9-11 attack. The Religious Right will have done the dirty work for them by destroying these United States.

Somehow, I''m not one bit surprised that you know people who think that bestiality is cool. - Reply to this comment
- Even South Africa, once the epitome of rampant discrimination, has now accepted and legislated nondiscrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Same-*** marriage became legal in South Africa on 30 November 2006 when the Civil Unions Bill was enacted after having been passed by the South African Parliament. South Africa became the 5th country to legalize same-s e x marriage. It''s just a matter of time people. Better get used to the idea. What exactly is it that scares straight people about the idea that 2 people of the same gender that love each other want to legalize their bond in the same way that they do? Equal protection means equal protection for ALL. Wake up people, our forefathers have spoken.

- It''s amazing that individuals and groups will spend millions for a cause that will ultimately be decided in the Supreme Courts of the states and the US. Discrimination is unconstitutional and Prop 8 is just that. As for the argument that marriage has historically been reserved for a man and a woman, even the most widely accepted traditions often mask an unfairness and inequality that only the victims understand. Confining same-*** couples to a different category marks them with second-class citizenship and is inhererently unconstitutional. Time will eventually be on the side of *** and lesbians, just as it was for blacks. Shame on the 70% of black people who voted yes to this unfair proposition. Its sad that a discriminated group of people who have so quickly forgotten their past.

- ...Khruschev once made a bold statement to a US leader. He commented that the children of the US will soon live in Communism. The US leader said that he will try his best to help the children of his nation live in a free democratic society. Khruschev followed that statement up by saying that, slowly, they will implement socialism into the US, and chip away at our democracy, until eventually we are blindsided by communism and at that point, we will be in so deep that we will have no way out. Obama is the start of socialism. He is chipping away and helping Khruschev''s desire to come true. I must say, at least the homosexual population stands for something. That is fine. You are entitled to that. But when it doesnt go your way, wait for the next opportunity and win. But until you can win, leave the winners alone!

- ...Are you not aware that there are 23 amendments to the US Constitution? I think the one thing the homosexual population has going for it is that they are bright people. Dont ruin your entire reputation, because youre losing what youve got day by day as you participate in stupid protests that arent going to due any good anyway. I liked the persons comment about abortion. They had it right. Even though they disagree with the result of prop 8, why dont you now move on to something that really has an affect on society. How about saving lives. Giving children a chance at life rather than an irresponsible minor the lack of accountability. Adoption is a wonderful thing. As for raped women, we can talk about that. But people need to be accountable. This is a blessed country that we live in. Dont ruin it for your selfish desires.

- ...You dont see people sueing the churches that support gay marriage do you? Did you know that a heterosexual couple cannot be listed as domestic partners in California? What if my wife and I dont want to be listed as married, but as domestic partners. I cant! Where are my rights there? Who should I sue for that one? It is a pathetic charge against those who do not support gay marriage, and it just happens to be that it is all the conservative churches who expressed their views. You are simply bitter because you are not as powerful, and the only way you can get anything done is, cowardly, through the backdoor system of corruption. You dont see gay athletes suing the judges and score keepers do you? But what if you lost? Why not sue them? Its all a game. This just happens to be politics. If you cant handle losing, then go to a Socialist country where they will dictate for you what you can and cant do and how you can and cannot live your life, and convince them of gay marriage and let them force it on the people. Fortunately here in the USA, it is a government for and by the people. When the people''s voice is overturned by government, corruption has set in. When you become the majority and are able to convince the population that you should be able to be married, then you can. Until then SHUT YOUR MOUTH! And by the way, whoever said you cannot ammend the constitution is probably the most uneducated fool I have ever heard of%u2026

- The homosexual population always has been, and always will be a victocratic population. First, if there should be a separation between church and state, then why are the churches being sued by the population. In Mass., the Catholic church had to shut down their adoption services simply to avoid litigation because they would not adopt children to homosexual couples. Tell me that their rights arent being taken away? What happened to the days when, if you couldnt get something in one place, you just go to another and find a place that has what you want. If a bread store chooses not to sell wheat bread, are you going to sue them because you want them to sell wheat bread? No! You are going to go to another store that has it, and buy it there. This same principle holds true with gay marriage. If the state chooses that they dont support gay marriage, and you dont like it, go somewhere that will support it. And it was the state population that doesnt support it, not 4 corrupt judges%u2026

- A separation of church and state?! Any church who donated money to support this proposition and preached from the pulpit on which way to vote on this needs to lose their tax-exemption status. I am not in a position to do anything, but, please, someone take up this cause. All these churches have over-stepped their bounds and therefore need to lose their tax-exemption status!!! Come on IRS...investigate this!
