Celebs Serve Up Halloween Treats
(CBS)
Bruce Springsteen Casts A Spell On His Fans For Halloween
Bruce Springsteen has a Halloween treat for his fans.
The rocker has posted a free download of a new song, "A Night With the Jersey Devil," on his Web site. The song has a blues beat, and Springsteen sings about "16 witches casting 16 spells."
Writes Springsteen: "If you grew up in central or south Jersey you grew up with the 'Jersey Devil.' Here's a little musical Halloween treat. Have fun!"
There's also a video showing Springsteen as the legendary Jersey Devil.
Earlier this week, Springsteen announced that he and his wife would not hold their annual elaborate Halloween display at their Rumson mansion. The couple said they were worried about people's safety because the event attracted too many visitors.
"Today" Show Cast Not Too Spooky For Halloween
NBC's "Today" show was turned into a fairytale land for Halloween.
Matt Lauer was dressed as Humpty Dumpty, asking if he looked fat. Meredith Vieira was virtually unrecognizable as Pinocchio, admitting at one point she was getting "a little high" from the glue sticking her nose on her face.
Ann Curry played Cinderella, or as she described herself, "the ethnic J-Lo Cinderella." Al Roker wore a Gingerbread Man's costume.
Kathie Lee Gifford dressed as the Big Bad Wolf and Hoda Kotb was Little Red Riding Hood.
Natalie Morales made a surprise appearance to show off her new baby and that she'd lost her pregnancy weight.
At one point, going into a commercial break, Vieira made a scary blooper, saying "this is Today on CBS."
Regis And Kelly Pull Off 14 Halloween Costume Changes
Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa dressed up as 14 celebrities on "Live With Regis and Kelly's" Halloween show, wearing seven costumes apiece.
They opened the show as Sarah Palin and Joe Biden, with Ripa doing her best Tina-Fey-does-Sarah-Palin impression.
Ripa and Philbin also played Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray, which led to a Hannah Montana music video, with Ripa playing Hannah and Philbin, Kevin Jonas. Executive producer Michael Gelman and show executive Art Moore were the other two Jonas brothers.
As celebrity chefs, Philbin played Gordon Ramsey, screaming "Get out of my kitchen!" and Ripa spoofed Paula Dean's love of butter by taking a bite out of a stick of butter between two doughnuts. Through a bit of TV magic, they also played Emeril Lagasse and Nigella Lawson at the same time.
Ripa walked the balance beam as Olympic gold medal-winner Shawn Johnson with Philbin by her side as her coach Bela Karolyi.
They finished the show as Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn of "Project Runway," judging a viewer Halloween costume contest. The winners were two women whose costume was a roller coaster ride. They won $20,000.
