Lott: GOP Should `aggressively Pursueż Lieberman
(The Politico)
Former Sen. Trent Lott says Senate Republicans should roll out the red carpet to persuade Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman to join their ranks.
“They should aggressively pursue him,” Lott said in an interview with The Hill.
While Lieberman still caucuses with the Democrats, his aggressive campaigning on behalf of John McCain has touched off rumors that he may be stripped of his chairmanship of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
“If the Democrats take away his credentials or they take away his committee, why would he want to make them a majority?” Lott asked.
