Police: Man Killed Wife's Dog After Fight
New York City police say a drunken man took out his anger at his new wife on her dog, first shooting the beagle with a BB gun then fatally stabbing the animal.
Police say the couple, who got married last month, argued after the man came home at dawn, intoxicated. His wife apparently was angry at his condition and stormed out of the apartment in the Bronx section of New York.
Police say the 28-year-old man, enraged that she left, fired the BB gun at the dog and then plunged the kitchen knife into the animal several times.
When his wife returned, she found the dog lying in a pool of blood, and called 911.
The man, who cut his hand while attacking the dog, was treated at a hospital and arrested on charges of injuring an animal, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
