Citizens United, a conservative advocacy group based in Washington, plans to release a 95-minute film in the five swing-state publications to highlight Obama's record on abortion rights, foreign policy and his past associations, including his relationship with former pastor Rev. Jermiah Wright. The group said it planned to spend more than $1 million to distribute about 1.25 million copies of "Hype: The Obama Effect."
"We think it's a truthful attack. People can take it anyway they want," said David Bossie, Citizens United's president.
Readers of The Columbus Dispatch received their copy Tuesday. The Cincinnati Enquirer, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post and the Las Vegas Review-Journal are scheduled to receive them in coming days.
The film raises questions about Obama's political base in Chicago and the media's reporting on Obama.
Among those interviewed are conservative columnist Robert Novak, former Clinton strategist-turned-pundit Dick Morris and former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and discredited Obama critic Jerome Corsi also give interviews.
Bossie was involved in the House's investigation of President Clinton that led to his Senate impeachment trial.
Obama campaign spokesman Isaac Baker said middle-class families are tired of "slash and burn politics."
"Ohio voters aren't buying John McCain's increasingly negative and desperate smear tactics, and we're confident they'll see right through these dishonest, debunked attacks from the fringes of the far right," Baker said.

- Misha, here ya go:
Looks like research on the PLO was needed and various experts were paid to provide it. As an expert on the PLO, Khalidi was tapped. Unlike Obama, McCain did not attend a dinner at Khalidi''s home, listen to anti-semetic poems by children or give a toast praising Khalidi.
So McCain''s use of Khalidi to get information on the PLO was a smart move. Obama''s and Michelle Obama''s relationship was basically pal''ing around with Khalidi.
Obama befriended Khalidi and the LA times article is evidence that Obama''s response of him being a "guy in the neighborhood" was misleading (again). When added to Obama''s relationships with Wright, Pfleger, Jones, Ayers and Rezko plus Obama''s socialist writings, it brings Obama''s poor judgement into question. We know very little about Obama other than he was a social activist, a state senator and a US senator (that voted present and did nothing but run for president). These character and poor judgement issues should make people concerned. Ask yourself, what is about Obama that these people are drawn to him?
This should come as no surprise as it''s now coming out that the reason the press has done such a poor job investigating Obama is because of the barriers to access him created by Democratic handlers. You, apparently were fooled into consuming the pre-packaged Mr Teleprompter Obama. - Reply to this comment

If Rashid Khalidi is an important anti-semetic terrorist as the McCain / Palin camp alleges; when will Senator McCain explain leading an organization that provided the alleged anti-semetic terrorist, Rashid Khalidi, 1/2 a million dollars to support his work?

- I got one of those anti Obama CD''s in the mail, but there''s been enough news coverage of it and I knew what it was. I killed it with great relish. I am sick to death of the republican dirty politics. I''m an independent and could have gone either way. I voted for Regan. But this time the decision is easy. I''m not voting to look at and listen to the sour old grouch who wants to bomb the whole world---I''m not going to look at him and listen to him for the next four years. And thanks to the magic of the TV clicker, I don''t have to listen to him anymore for the next six days either. Does he ever say anything positive at all. All I hear is what''s wrong with the other guy and not much about what''s good about him. I''ll go with the mature grown up who shown good judgment and whose plans sound good to me.

- Vegassoul, I presented you with credible and sourced information that shed serious doubts about the character of a very unknown candidate with little track record. If you want to say, "Ok, I know Obama went to a goodbye dinner party where an anti-semetic poem was recited and Bill Ayers was also in attendance, but I don''t buy it that Obama is not pro-Israel." If you want to say that, you need a basis of evidence that Obama has a history of action and record that is pro-Israel. Where is it? What has Barack Obama done in his career that is pro-Israel other than talk at a teleprompter?. Please cite references of Obama''s pro-Israel history.

- I believe some of the Obama supporters are actually amazed how quickly "That One" turned into a rallying cry. As in I''''m for "That One". PS I have also proudly voted for Obama already.

The reason I asked was because I didn''t think saying "That One" was that bad, but I could be wrong.
Congratulations on voting for the candidate of your choice, I am having a harder time making up my mind then you did as to who to vote for. - Reply to this comment
- I''m sure the DVD raises many questions.
And provides no answers...
Fear-mongering at its most average...
Six days and McCain/Palin officially enter "footnote status", COMPLETELY outclassed by the young senator from Illinois. - Reply to this comment

I was wondering what the difference is between McCain calling Obama "that One" and Oprah calling him "the One"?
"the Oprah for Barack Obama rally in Des Moines, Iowa. Winfrey said, "For the very first time in my life, I feel compelled to stand up and to speak out for the man who I believe has a new vision for America," and told the audience of 15,000 said, "I am here to tell you, Iowa, he is the one. He is the one!"

McCain participated the "The One" campaign too. However; I believe some of the Obama supporters are actually amazed how quickly "That One" turned into a rallying cry. As in I''m for "That One". PS I have also proudly voted for Obama already. - Reply to this comment
- Hope it was wrapped in a slime green wrapper. I wonder how long before parents are chastising the McCain Campaign for scaring children (robocalls) or providing inappropriate material to children (through the US Mail) or what else now via the newspaper. The McCain / Palin campaign will leave no delivery method unslimed before the election.

- "Minister Louis Farrakhan lives a block from our home and adds, we think, a unique dimension to the idea of ''''safe neighborhood watch'''': the Fruit of Islam, his security force, has an eye on things twenty-four-hours a day."
And Obama said we need not just our existing military (which includes the state militias), but "a civilian national security force that%u2019s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.%u201D
So, now we''ll have to make sure everyone is armed so we can protect ourselves from rogues from this new security force. And the people who approve of this are the same ones who accuse the police of brutality and the military of torture and murder. - Reply to this comment
- jeb001980, You left off the worst thugs of all--the United Nations. Obama signed on with them, including policy that directly contradicts the U.S. Constitution.
Who are these people? They are dictators, monarchs, etc. who put Libya in charge of human rights! They attack Israel as the worst (and mostly only) human rights offender! They want to disarm ordinary citizens worldwide, so we can be in the same situation as Congo and other countries who disarmed their citizens and now have no means to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.
And Obama signed on with them and did not sign on with backers of the U.S. Constitution when he had the chance. But you''d never know this from his rhetoric. - Reply to this comment
- Vegassoul, Thank you for conceding my point by not addressing it. I''ll take a war hero anyday over Obama who sang the praises of Bill Ayers when he blurbed Ayer''s book in the Chicago Tribune, sang at the feet of Rev Wright, sang the praises of Khalidi and of Louis Farrakhan said this:
"Minister Louis Farrakhan lives a block from our home and adds, we think, a unique dimension to the idea of ''safe neighborhood watch'': the Fruit of Islam, his security force, has an eye on things twenty-four-hours a day.".
Most Americans wouldn''t shake the hands of Bill Ayers let alone work with him on two boards, combine forces to fund Acorn with public funds let alone blurb his book. Obama''s ties are recent and much deeper than he''s admitted in his shifting responses. Here, READ:

Ayers is just the tip of the iceberg.

- Velma179. Do some more learning. Obama is running for president. He''s supposed to be investigated and his character examined. That''s what''s supposed to happen by the press when you run. It''s fair game for a candidate to investigate and communicate about the opponent. That''s what the Dems and press have done to Palin and McCain.
Ad Hominem is what Obama and his buddies in the press did to Joe the Plumber, Fox News and anyone else who questioned or challenges Obama. Instead of responding to the points on Khalidi, Ayers, and the half dozen others, he obfuscates and thus concedes the point.
Recent comments here about Republicans as a group are Ad Hominen, they change the subject, they don''t address the issue, just like you did.
Obama is the least vetted candidate in history. From the record, he''s less qualified to be president than Sarah Palin. But thanks to the Democratic Ad Hominen machine, you learned more about Joe the Plumber in 48 hours than you did about Obama let alone his recent associations with Khalidi, Ayers, and the rest of the bunch. And this week, Joe Biden is said the Obama''s redistribution plan doesn''t stop at $250K but now looks like $150K. Then again, Biden isn''t all that good at math with J-O-B-S being a 3 letter word and all.
Use your brain. Vote McCain. - Reply to this comment
- This country is pathetic. How can anyone with a brain vote for the anti-American anti-Consitution hypocrite Barack Obama.
If anyone of you had a child who consistenly hung around extremely bad influences.... you would DEFINATELY NOT reward your child. Yet... you same idiots are willing to overlook the horrendous people Barack has accepted into his life both personally, politically, and spiritually because you don''''t like the economy and are too stupid to look past the political RHETORIC that has been spoken by every politician since the beginning of time... "I will bring Change"... are you f''n kidding me...???
I dare anyone of you Barack cool-aid drinking idiots.... to show me significant evidence that he has done ANYTHING in his brief political career to back up the CHANGES his mouth has been spouting off since the start of the primaries.
The guy is a fraud and the pied piper of lies... and so many stupid people in this country are willing to close their eyes and follow his music. Not suprised considering this country was stupid enough to LISTEN and then VOTE George W Bush into office TWICE!
NO experience managing an economony on any level, NO foriegn policy experience, and very questionable allegiances... so lets make him President! HAHAHAHA..... - Reply to this comment
- Joe-Truth,
Thanks for bringing it up. The definition --
ad hominem:
1. appealing to one''s prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to one''s intellect or reason.
2. attacking an opponent''s character rather than answering his argument.
This concept perfectly portrays the McCain/Palin campaign strategy and their tactics.
The DVD in the newspapers proves the point. - Reply to this comment
- What about McCain and his connections to Israel? Why does that country have the largest lobbying group in DC? Why does Palin, a protestant, constantly assure Israel we are their friends? I thought americans believed in Jesus and all his religions, not judaism and israel? What kind of nation security concerns must we have there? Google "Dancing Israelis" and see what comes up.

- MegamanX1: All journalists have a bias. The better ones don''t reflect it in their reporting. You''re just so used to the one sided stuff you see here on MSNBC, CBS, ABC and NBC that you don''t recognize balanced reporting.

- I love these posts from the Obama lovers yet there''s not one that will answer re their thoughts on his church, his Rev. Wright, Resko, Farakhann, Obama receiving pre-paid credit cards (donations) that can''t be traced, lieing about association with Acorn when he trained them and donated $800,000.00 to their subgroup Project Vote and ..
I get the impression none of you give a dame about character or not knowing much about Obama- except what he tells you. It must be the freebies he''s telling you you''re gonna get when he''s in office. I haven''t come up with anything else that you could tag common sense to.. - Reply to this comment
