Mahoney Gives Self "F Minus" On Morals
(The Politico)
F minus -- on a curve.
Asked to grade himself, embattled Florida Rep. Tim Mahoney gave himself an “A” for his legislative record and an “F minus” for his personal conduct, according to Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers.
Mahoney also implored his constituents, who are abandoning him much as they did his predecessor Mark Foley, to look past recent revelations of numerous affairs and concentrate on his legislative record.
“All I can do at this point is admit it, recognize that I’m remorseful,” Mahoney said. “I’m certainly in a position to take personal responsibility at this point.”
The freshman congressman told the editorial board he didn’t want to appear arrogant, but still believes he can still win re-election, despite his post-scandal nosedive in the polls.
Mahoney also said he intends to attend a debate with his Republican opponent on Friday.
