The 87-year-old former first lady fell last week but she decided Monday to get checked out at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center because of persistent pain, Joanne Drake said.
Doctors determined she had a fractured pelvis.
"She's in some pain but in very good spirits," Drake said.
Mrs. Reagan was undergoing physical therapy but surgery won't be required, Drake said. It was not known how long she'll be hospitalized.
Mrs. Reagan apparently got up in middle of the night and fell after twisting on her leg at her home in Bel-Air.
Mrs. Reagan was hospitalized three days in February after a similar fall at the hillside home she shared with President Reagan after their White House years. He died June 5, 2004, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
It was initially feared Mrs. Reagan broke her hip in that February fall, but tests determined there was no fracture.

- I wish The (x) 1st lady, and widow; a swift recovery, and a quick return to private life.
It is disheartening that the 1st lady should succumb to that which is felt mostly by the lower class, (including myself): pain. This may help ease the pain: "just say no - to pain".

- Oh Boy!
Un-fortunately for Mrs. Reagan, it is USUALLY a fall and a broken pelvis (iliac crest portion) that starts the DOWNWARD SPIRAL toward death. At age 87, FIGURE IT OUT, PEOPLE. PRAY FOR HER.
God bless, and get well soon Mrs. Reagan - Reply to this comment
- Oh BOY!
This is NOT good. Most elderly people start the "downward spiral" toward death beginning with a fall which fractures the pelvis. Most likely the iliac crest.
God Bless, and get well soon! - Reply to this comment
- I think of Nancy in the white house then think of Michelle Obama beside her and I just get sick. Michelle will never fit well in the white house. Posted by sistermay99
Where did you go to White House and First Lady training to gain this inside understanding of just who will and won''t fit in at the White House? Oh, wait, maybe it''s about WHITE house?? Shut your stupid ignorant pie hole you bigot. - Reply to this comment

- Such pitiful, shameful people and their nasty comments. I guess they are lacking somewhere in their lives, obviously.
Mrs. Reagan is a very classy women who worked hard and loved her husband dearly. I wish her a comfortable recovery. She is a woman who deserves respect. You don''''t have to admire her, agree with her or even like her but she is a mother and was a wife and daughter. Show some class if you can.

- OK there''s a dirty joke about her and Schwarzenegger here but I''m not going to tell it. Maybe she can get medical marijuana for the pain.

- I''m sixty-two years old. I fell in April and fractured my pelvis. It took all of three weeks to heal. I wasn''t even hospitalized.

- Just say no, Nancy!
Your husband should have said just that when someone asked him to run for president. He started the mess we''re in now with his ridiculous "trickle down" economic policies. - Reply to this comment
