Alaska's youngest and first female governor tabbed to be McCain's running mate.

(AP)  Seven aides to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin have reversed course and agreed to testify in an investigation into whether the Republican vice presidential nominee abused her powers by firing a commissioner who refused to dismiss her former brother-in-law.

There is no indication, however, that Palin or her husband will now agree to testify in the legislative inquiry, which has dogged her for the past several months and could hurt John McCain in the final weeks of the presidential race.

Palin, a first-term governor, is the focus of a legislative investigation into her firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan a year after she, her husband and key advisers began questioning him about getting rid of a state trooper who had gone through a nasty divorce with her sister.

Monegan says he was dismissed because he wouldn't fire the governor's former brother-in-law, but Palin contends he was dismissed for insubordination. McCain operatives called Monegan a "rogue" who repeatedly tried to work outside normal channels for requesting money.

Lawmakers subpoenaed seven state employees to testify in the inquiry but they challenged those subpoenas. After a judge rejected that challenge last week, the employees decided to testify, Alaska Attorney General Talis Colberg said.

Democratic state Sen. Hollis French, who is managing the investigation, said that, following the court ruling, he again asked Palin and her husband, Todd, whether they planned to testify.

"We've had no response," French said Sunday.

Palin says the legislative inquiry has become too political and she believes that only the state's personnel board should investigate the firing. Todd Palin has agreed to speak with investigators for that panel but not for the legislative inquiry.

The governor has the authority to fire the members of the personnel board.

Alaska's Supreme Court, meanwhile, is considering whether to block the findings of the legislative inquiry. The high court scheduled arguments for Wednesday over whether the case is being manipulated to hurt Palin before Election Day on Nov. 4.

The decision by the state employees to testify will not affect that appeal, said Kevin Clarkson, a lawyer for five Republican lawmakers who brought that challenge.

The independent investigator conducting the probe plans to turn over his conclusions on the case by next Friday to the Legislative Council, the body that authorized it.

It''s not a smart move.

It''ll expose all the corruption in the Palin Administration in Alaska.

It''s better not to cooperate with the subpoena!

That''s the Republican way.

Hey Karl A Rove.

Tell Palin not to cooperate!!

Sarah Palin hasn''t even made it to the White House house and she is already involved in a "gate" scandal. Intersting. If you need more information about her political past and what kind of politician she is, I recommend this unbiased site--

It has lots of rare footage, including her telling the %u201808 convention of the Alaskan Independence Party, whose aim is to give Alaska a vote on seceding from the U.S., to %u201Ckeep up the good work%u201D - and her complaining four months ago that Hillary Clinton was whining about %u201Csexist%u201D media coverage.

They have probably changed their minds about "protecting" her.

"Alaska''s Supreme Court, meanwhile, is considering whether to block the findings of the legislative inquiry."

WHY would they do that? People have a right to know BEFORE the election.

Hmmm, they would fire Monegan for being a "rogue". Last I checked a rogue was synonymous with "maverick". Why would Palin fire someone for being a maverick?

Has it occurred to anyone that McCain''s plan to put Palin in charge of energy if elected is the same plan that Bush had for Cheney when they were, well, "elected"?

Palin has an interest in seeing the price of oil increase. All of her friends and relatives from Alaska (as well as Palin herself) receive money from the Alaska fund that disperses excess oil royalty revenue. If oil goes up so does Palin''s friends payout. Sounds similar to the self-interest (some would say conflict of interest) Cheney had when he took over the energy portfolio for the federal government. We all can see what that got us.

Add to your list, Harold Simmons, the billionaire who financed the swiftboating($4mil.) of John Kerry. He also is a terrorist who intends to control the government. He has already donated the limit to the McCain campaign and put $2.5 million in the character assassination campaign against Obama. He is the sole donor to the American Issues Project designed to swiftboat Obamo.

Ah the plot thickens......

Whether it was Nixon, Ollie North, Bush, Cheney, Rice or Rumsfeld -- they all lied through their teeth. And Palin is just like Nixon, if only they would come clean, tell the truth, the electorate would likely forgive and forget --- moving on. But as long as Palin conceals Troopergate, and tries to cover it up there will be suspicion that we are getting another 4 years of lies, treachery, illegal firings, and other shenanagins.

We cannot afford it. She''s digging herself in deeper and deeper. And she''s dragging down a lot of evangelicals who support her.

"McCain''s appreciation of the beauty of Asian women was so great that David the American economist had to move his Thai wife to the other side of the table from McCain as McCain kept aggressively flirting with and touching her. Needless to say I was irritated at his large ego and his rude behavior towards his wife and other women, but decided he must have some redeeming qualities as he had adopted a handicapped child from Bangladesh. I asked him about this one day, and his response was shocking: "Oh, that was Cindy''s idea - I didn''t have anything to do with it. She just went and adopted this thing without even asking me. If they actually - especially after all of the rehearsals with the top dawgs of the Republicans'' lawyers - get beyond the *Gonzo response, their words should be suspect in the ears of any rational listener.

Palin''s comments about Obama are divisive lies. Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was in the Weather Underground! WHY does the MSM not talk about Palin''s close association with a bonafide witch hunter/pastor? About her (and her husband''s) association with a party that on record hates the US government, the AK Independence Party? About her abuse of power and funds in AK? About McCain''s close association with the criminal Keating 5? Why are they so silent on this? Palin is like a used car salesman, all about opinion, never facts, cheats in the debate by refusing to answer questions posed, trying her slick act of winking/folksy talk, patronizing the American public? She is a divisive, racist operative who, to gain power, will do whatever her masters tell her to do, and she has no reputable political future. She knows nothing about U.S. foreign policy, the economy, the U.S. Constitution, the Supreme Court. She is a fake and a racist who cares only about her political future, not this country.

...John McCain''s ...central role in the savings and loan scandal of the late ''80s and early ''90s.

John McCain was accused of improperly aiding his political patron, Charles Keating, chairman of the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association. At the heart of the scandal was Keating''s Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which took advantage of deregulation in the 1980s to make risky investments with its depositors'' money. McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating with federal regulators tasked with preventing banking fraud, and championed legislation to delay regulation of the savings and loan industry -- actions that allowed Keating to continue his fraud at an incredible cost to taxpayers.

When the savings and loan industry collapsed, Keating''s failed company put taxpayers on the hook for $3.4 billion and more than 20,000 Americans lost their savings. John McCain was reprimanded by the bipartisan Senate Ethics Committee, but the ultimate cost of the crisis to American taxpayers reached more than $120 billion.

The Keating scandal is eerily similar to today''s credit crisis, where a lack of regulation and cozy relationships between the financial industry and Congress has allowed banks to make risky loans and profit by bending the rules. And in both cases, John McCain''s judgment and values have placed him on the wrong side of history.

Palin, and her First Dud husband, along with her entourage, her hired staff, have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they believe to be above the law. They have not been forthcoming, read liars, and have been stonewalling the investigation, read corruption, from the start. Palin herself stated she would cooperate with the investigation and said to hold her accountable. But Palin went against her own word and it immediately began to hurt the McCain campaign. McCain did nothing. Perhaps, they now feel a need to cooperate and not be contemptuous of a legal investigation with subpoenas. If Palin''s actions since troopergate started isn''t cause to consider Palin, and company, some kind of criminal political corruption, wondering what would be just cause for that belief. If it walks like a duck and, well everyone knows the drill.

This Alaska Governor has destroyed "MANY GOOD ALASKAN PEOPLE(s) professionally and politically during her short term position as Mayor in a small community Wasilla, Ak (Approx 7,500 residents ) and current Alaska State Governor.(of approx. twenty months). Whenever Palin is confronted with a question that she does not know, does not have a clue or simply does not want to answer, her indignation which turns to...ANGER...is familiar. McCains'''' V.P. selection Sarah Palin has no business being the Alaska Governor, let alone, a USA candidate for Vice President.... Maverick??.....****AMERICA SHOULD BE FEARFULLY CONCERNED****. Todd Palin Was Registered Member of Alaska Independence Party Until 2002
By Kate Klonick - September 2, 2008, 3:25PM
The McCain camp today disputed rumors that presumptive vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was ever registered with the secessionist Alaska Independence Party by releasing years of voter registration history . . . but it looks like that doesn''t apply to her husband.
This afternoon, the director of Division of Elections in Alaska, Gail Fenumiai, told TPMmuckraker that Todd Palin registered in October 1995 to the Alaska Independence Party, a radical group that advocates for Alaskan secession from the United States.
Besides a short period of a few months in 2000 when he changed his registration to undeclared, Todd Palin remained a registered member of AIP until July 2002 when he registered again as an undeclared voter.

I heard the reason a certain "Hockey Mom" became a Hockey mom was because her son did a bit of "domestic terrorism" by jumping a fence and cutting the BRAKE LINES of numerous School buses. If the SABOTAGE had NOT been found out there could have been dozens of dead or injured kids.

Apparently the "hockey" thing was the result of a "camp the boy was sent to to AVOID GOING TO Juvenile Hall and the RECORDS were SEALED.
