(AP)  A man killed his parents-in-law by setting them on fire with a homemade flame-thrower, Austrian police said Saturday.

The 48-year-old man used a flame-thrower he had created from a propane gas container to set the elderly couple alight as they lay in bed late Friday, chief police investigator Anton Kiesl said.

The woman burned to death in her bed, while her husband's body was found on a bench outside their home in the southeastern village of St. Magdalena am Lemberg, Kiesl said.

Both victims were in their 80s; the woman's lower legs had been amputated due to diabetes-related complications.

The man's motive was not immediately clear. His wife - and the victims' daughter - was in the house at the time of the incident, and escaped through a window, Kiesl said.

The chief investigator said the man fled the scene and stabbed himself in the stomach. The man, who was not identified by name, is now in an induced coma following an emergency operation.

There must be some way to blame this on George Bush.

Probably nothing. Millions of Austrians seem to be doing just fine.

Seriously, *** is wrong with German people? Still, is there anyone who has in-laws who hasn''t considered this at least once?

As far as a crime goes, it was "well done".

"These Scheissekopf Germans really know how to take care of their elderly!"

First, learn to spell. Secondly, this is Austria, not Germany. Hitler was Austrian and not German. Then again, benthic organisms like you never let facts get in their way.

Parents-in-law? That just sounds strange. In-laws would have sufficed.

How can a man kill two 80 year old people? One who was disabled! He probably was living off these poor people and they finally got sick of it. What a sad way to die. It is truly tragic to have to burn to death by your deranged son-in-law.

=========================

I''m going to assume that you are Americans. Why do you hate your country so much? Do you really believe that we''re all crazed homicidal maniacs? If so, aren''t you amongst us?

What country has done more to feed and provide health care to the third world? What country has a higher per-capita rate of charitable donation? Who has done more to fight AIDS in Africa? Who defeated the Nazis?

I feel sorry for you. Your obviously so bitter about something in your life that you are blind to reality. The USA as a nation is not perfect. Our government has made horrible tragic mistakes. But overall, their has never been a greater nation on this Earth.
